    Inside The Edge

Just finished watching Inside the Edge. Pretty cool movie. For non-counters and novices, I liked the video synposis of the three AP techniques, counting, ST and Ace sequencing. Had to register an IMDb account then watched it for free on Amazon Video. Well worth the effort to view it.

I saw the film and couldn't believe that he lost $60,000 in Wendover and the Wendover Nugget still escorted him out on buy in. Goes to show you just how sweaty the Wendover Nugget really is.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm sure that anyone who swings 60K either way in Wendover is definitely going to get noticed...reviewed, and then kicked out immediately.

I hate to say it, but, I turned off the movie with another 25 minutes or so to go. I get it! KC's going around the country in an RV playing BJ. No insult against KC or anyone, but, I get it.

Surprised there hasn't been more commentary on this. It struck me as pretty spot on as far as card counting goes. Makes me content that I never decided to go high stakes/make-a-living approach. I think the conclusion of the movie was that it is possible - but it's a first glamorous then big depressing grind and eventually no places to play.

My only doubt about the authenticity of the movie is all the back-off videos. They appeared very real, but how were they obtained? What's up with that?

Agree with you on the first point. I got banned from Colin’s side for suggesting the same. I think the casinos would happily provide back off videos (that would not get them in legal trouble) to discourage folks from learning to count cards. Kind of like this is what happens if you do.

Simple...button camera. They make cameras small and good enough now to look like a button on a shirt.

Button camera makes sense. I can't believe that the casinos would allow a filming crew.

That's like saying the movie 'Alien' is about a spaceship's crew landing on a planet and they encounter an alien. I get it!
I think however you may miss a few things by only watching part of it.

I know old thread; but good movie. A little glamourized in some respects but I really thought he showed the grind and life of trying to travel on an extended BJ trip. Using the main known AP methods (counting, hole carding, and shuffle tracking). He doesn't explain how he does it technically but he explains each technique. Talks and shows comparison between some of the smaller places v larger. Vegas v other smaller casino centers, etc. I think it's a viewable movie with a lot of know experts in brief moments and explanations of the game. Like Wong, Nersesian, Munchkin, Hyland, etc.
