    TKO as Cover

What is your guys' opinion on the use of TKO over Hi-Lo as cover? I am considering switching to Hi-Lo for it's simplicity and compatibility with team play, but I am concerned that the main count that casino staff would know to catch you is Hi-Lo, and that my use of TKO might throw them off. I'd love to hear your opinions, thanks.

All the counts have + correlation with player advantage. While they do not have 100% correlation with each other, their correlations are close enough that your bet ramp will give you away no matter what count you are using. Unbalanced counts will be less correlated with balanced counts than other other balanced counts will be correlated with balanced counts, but counters can ID other counters based on when they raise their bets, regardless of the count used. A hand or two or three off will still allow a counter to ID another counter regardless of what counts are being used or who the counters are employed by.

In reality it is much easier to ID a counter than you might think. So let's say you have a "house counter" watching your play and they are using Hi Lo to count you down, but are too lazy to convert to TC. All they have to do is note whether the RC is + or - when you raise your bet...and if you never raise your bet on a - RC, and only raise your bet on a + RC, they can easily ID you as a counter.

Thanks for the info. That was my inkling but I have no math to back it up. I will highly consider moving to Hi-Lo.

Rather Not......I can see Hi-Lo for team play but do you really think it will be more "simple" than TKO ? Were you unhappy with your TKO results? I ask because I'm just beginning my AP journey and plan on learning KO (actually "TCOB".
    Thanks
