I'd always take the insurance, then surrender if available. I might avoid insuring for the full amount if it required another buy in.

The great AP’s on this forum can chip in and help us learn. Do they, have they, ever used cover, act, and conversation to deflect attention or, as Refinery says, with EITS present, no AP needs to worry about cover?

No longer recall the exact hand, but it involved a (competent) dealer ace, insured, with over 2K on the table, continual conversation anfpd a huge dealer mispay.

Cover easily mean different things to different people.

According to Refinery, EITS is watching so this could not have happened.

I’ve seen a dealer fired in the floor minutes after EITS caught a $1500 mispay. I’ve been at tables where entire tables were requested to return dealer misplays.

EITS can’t catch everything, and looks for far more than dealer misplays. In what I described, if EITS had caught it, they would have noted constant conversation between myself and dealer, and an easy miss by me. I would suggest that more often than not, the EITS misses dealer misplays.

Some casinos in London have multiple mics in the tables. Considering their rules -- seems a waste.

Having microphones on the tables are common outside the US. I was once in a casino where the dealer was requested a verbal command instead of hand gesture.

I believe Crockfords did five years ago. No idea now.
