I was just driving back from an overnight trip and wondered about how to assess success. I had left for a 2 night trip to a destination about 220 miles from home (440 miles RT) with plans to play at 3 casinos. I got there about 3 p.m., took a nap in my comped room, went out to play around 7:00 p.m.

To make a long story short, I played about 2 hours at 2 different casinos with a dinner ($15) in between, won about $600, decided to return and sleep for the night. The idea was to play all day the next day (today) but I did not sleep well. Left hotel to play at about 9:00 a.m., but on impulse, decided to just return home.

win is $600. Expenses, gas $45, meal expenses ($50).

Now, is there a way to calculate car depreciation cost. Should I use $0.10 per mile or higher?

Given that I spent 7 hours drive time, 4 hours table time, 2 days (left Thursday morning, returned Friday at 1:00 p.m.) or actually 28 hours of my time to win $600, how do you calculate what the trip amounts to?

I am thinking that $600 win minus $95 in expenses or $505 should be divided by 11 hours (7 hours driving, 4 hours playing) but not sure. Comments?
