Does anyone else ever say to themselves "I just want to go play today, have some fun, get some live practice in, not worry about heat, but use indexes and ODPs, and just flat bet" and then just think of it as a training day?
This costs very little and if you flat bet on a players card it might buy you a little more time. I have 1 S17 LS DAS DOA NRSA 1 draw 6 deck game close by where the facility is an utter, smokey, dump, but I sometimes like to go play there as described above and flat bet because when I use my ODPs and indexes it's still a winning game, but you won't make a lot of money at it when flat betting.
Never done that either. It's not a winning game of course if you don't have the rules to support it. And I don't really see the point. You get your face around and you don't make the money. More downside than upside imo

Thoughts?
If you're already a solid counter, I really don't see the purpose of this. If you're new and starting out, then yeah sure -- it's a cheap way to practice in real life conditions without drawing any heat.
