What aspect of card counting did you have the most difficult time mastering?

When you were first learning how to card count and first playing in casinos, what aspect of card counting was the most difficult to overcome?

Losing streak and having a doubt in your counting ability are tough to encounter in my opinion.

Hey Wave! How's the game going? Still playing REKO? Do you always apply 5% risk or less?

Your question is limit to "1st" so it's difficult for many counters who started play many years ago or someone with short memory, me. There are many things along the way you have to overcome. I will list some obstacles I struggled with, not in any order by time frame or difficulty.
-Keep the accurate count, especially the true count.
-Balancing between optimum bets and longivitive. At first few months after I was ok at true count I scares to death to put out 6 green as I was red chipper.
-When you have long loosing streaks it is hard to regain confident, many had quit. I do not have problem with bank roll but that will cut many wannabe out.
Other posters here have their own experiences and they are all valuable. Good luck.

WAVE; I'm still in the learning-basic-strategy phase and haven't selected a count method yet. Do you think that REKO will (has?) hold up for the long haul ? Does Norm's book have all I'd need to learn the complete method/ Thanks.....KL
