I've had seconds dealt to me twice once out of a shoe. His method was flipping the cards up with either his middle or ring finger and pulling the 4th or 5th card out.
Did someone you know with mechanic skills give you an example of how it can be done, or are you saying you've encountered this in live play at a corporate regulated casino?
