That automatically makes you Platinum, and you'll get a reward dinner plus two free show tickets. You don't even have to use the card.

Go to Groupon and pre-buy buffet passes. Let the family load up. Then you only have one other small meal to cover. You can also go to Vegas.com and buy discounted show tickets.

Don't rent a car. Use uber, the trams, the monorail, or get a day pass for the bus. The freedom of a car isn't worth the stress of driving in Vegas, imho.

In the early AM, while they're asleep, sneak out to play some sweet games before the table minimums are raised. An added benefit is you can often get heads up. So instead of quantity, you'll have quality.
this is not true in every tr place.
in some places pen is super variable but you can find amazing pen, in some it's always terrible, and in some it's always amazing. i'll take their 3:2 ndas dd games cut super deep any day but won't play rated in them.

    Thanks for the good advice.
Unfortunately TR credit card (also Mlife card) not available to Canadians.
Wife will not eat buffet - She has celiac disease and everything is cross contaminated with gluten in the buffet
Need the rental car for Grand Canyon, Laughlin, Colorado river part of the trip.
Have free/deeply discounted ticket to Cirque Love, Nathan Burton and Tourney of Kings so that part is done.

Will definitely be playing early morning while the girls sleep

I have an Mlife card. Never used it though. We live in the same country.

I don't have a US address anymore. Guess i could get one again at a parcel depot, but not really worth the effort. I already have several credit cards with better points programs than mLife.

Doesn't say anything about Canadians being not allowed to get a card.

It is US bank regulations rules, not nLife rules that are the problem:

What you need to actually get a US credit card

The U.S. credit system absolutely requires you to have on your credit file the following things:
    - a U.S.-based address
    - a Social Security Number (SSN)

You might not be able to get the Total Rewards credit card, but probably can get the Total Rewards player's card.

    Not so.
I have a US dollar credit card, issued by Royal Bank USA. As well, I have USD funds in deposit with Royal Bank USA. I also have USD accounts with both Royal Bank Canada, and Royal Bank USA. Further, I can seesaw between my Canadian and USA accounts, transfer money etc., at the touch of a button.

I do not have a US address, nor do I have a US issued social security number.

Agreed Freightman....that is a US dollar credit card, but it is issued from a Canadian bank.....we are talking about getting a credit card issued from a US bank (MLife or TR cards). I also have a US account with TD, but it still does not allow me to get a US issued credit card, although I can easily get a USD card from any of the Canadian banks

Here is a summary of the steps for a Canadian to get a US issued card:

    https://princeoftravel.com/blog/getting-us-credit-cards-for-canadians

Conclusion of blog for those that don't want to read whole post:

"There’s no denying that getting your very first US-issued credit card can be quite a complicated undertaking. From registering for a US mailbox to dealing with the highly involved process of getting an ITIN, it’s a tricky process to manage and can easily take up a good chunk of your time."

I always find it fascinating to see how threads develop.....gone from a question about playing rated, to how foreigners can get a US issued credit card.....would not have predicted the thread would go here

    Not quite.
It is a USD credit card, issued by Royal Bank USA, wholly owned by Royal Bank of Canada. The package also included a USD debit card, drawing off of the Royal Bank USA.

    This is a distinct difference.
