Glad to see sports betting coming to another state, but as a former resident of that state, the pols will find a way to screw it up.
Curious to see how a casino in downtown Chicago will do. Rivers is right next to the NW edge of the city, very close to O'Hare. And the Horseshoe in Hammond is literally blocks over the state line from the SE of Chicago. So if a Chicago resident wanted to go to a casino to gamble, they've already had options. So this likely will just split up the same pie, but as players, it does provide more options. I see Waukegan would get one, which would likely impact the Potawatomi casino in Milwaukee. They always got a lot of Illinois money heading up I-94. Arlington Park also to be converted to a racino with table games. Many options for blackjack players in northern Ill.
