So by doing a little side research project the past 2 months, raised a debate of "Is card counting on the decline and if so at what rate"?
Casinos across the country constantly making small tweaks to their rules & conditions, which is putting a squeeze on card counters edge. Eliminating the smallest edge increases the variance and so on so forth. So with just those 2 sentences said, raises this open debate that I would like to hear everyones input. Please don't be biased in your thought process and weigh all the past and present evidence that the casinos have put in front of you.
In my research, millions and millions of ploppy gamblers (many blackjack players) still do not know what card counting is and how it works. They raid casinos all across the country (and online) bringing their hard earned cash & unsuspecting thought process. They do not research anything in order to find out just how much casinos have a advantage. This definitely holds true for online casinos, as their tables are always full of ploppies playing 50% or less penetration daily. Land based casinos are catching on knowing they can tweak their rules a little more in favor to them, less to the card counters & its still not going to affect their bottomline profits. In fact, doing so could possibly increase them ever so slightly from the increased variance it brings to the card counters attempting to beat their games. I do not see an end to this pattern and it may taper off when casinos have nearly the perfect rules/conditions that can still have edge over the good card counters & still bring in ploppies at a steady rate. Included in my research were stories from "anonymous" past successful card counters, whose hung up the gloves in their fight against casinos. The ever so declining rules/conditions affected the EV so negatively over past few years & weighed heavily on the decisions to quit. Theres very few excellent card counters left out there & casinos know, their current rules can still crush those card counters who enter their domain to early in their training.
So I could keep going with my analysis, but I keep it to my bullet points and welcome the open debate to begin. Questioning me, dogging my opinion etc, etc will truely fall on deaf ears. So with that said, lets hear from many others in the trenches if their struggles have been increased or lessoned over past few years?
