Hello,
I was wondering what the “dealer” edge is if they pay even money on blackjack? While playing perfect BS. DD allowed. Single deck. Thanks
Brick
You didn't list all the rules, but try this edge calculator.

I should be more specific sorry.
Im looking to find the average advantage of a hand in a single deck game by the dealer because Im playing caddy blackjack soon. Splitting allowed. Das. Bj pays 1:1.The calculator mentioned says the dealer will have a 2.48% edge.
Most people dont play perfect basic strat. So im guessing this 2.5% will inflate to 3%. Anyways... So the AP move is....obviously? Kelly fund yourself as the banker properly while being the dealer? This should lead to optimal growth while banking no?

I know Im suppose to read literature in this...And it will make a great gift when purchased...I also like to discuss stuff too.
This exists on the West Coast where there are Indian Casinos and "Card Rooms"
where syndicates "bank" card games like BJ, Pai Gow and Baccarat.
In theory, you can as well, with a HUGE cash bankroll [as in six (6) figures];
BUT these operators will view you as a threat. You will not be happy when you
[or your dealer(s)] are threatened, etc.
The crucial mathematical issue is the ratio of the sum of bets banked to those that
you must make yourself. If you can bet $10 and you have poppies betting $500 a
hand, you can do well; though most days / shifts there will be very very little ‘action’
I do NOT recommend pursuing this.

Bricklayer,
All you need do is alter the rule set to include dealer hitting on Soft 17 and your edge
vs. Basic Strategists will be about 0.65% and that is damn high. As you pointed out;
there'll be some really poor play that will make that around 1% e.v. in your favor.
Your e.v will be roughly 1% of all money wagered, making it simple to compute your e.v.
Be aware that if the ratio of minimum to maximum permissible wagers is above 10-1, [e.g.
$2 to $20] than one decent player betting progressively can cause you to lose, although
your long-term prospects are good.
I have played Caddy BJ and I assure you that there will be some instances of being beaten
up by the lucky ploppies.

Thanks ZMF. I understand that if something is so obvious or easy to make money it should not be discussed the details in open forum. However the OP said the BJ is even money. In this particular store I see some other rules and pen that make me not want to be player, but wonder if to be banker is better way. BTW, I do not want to risk six (6) figures BR, it is just me. Who care if the Syndicates Banker upset as they offer the player can be baker as I saw some players do it but he/she had only few thousands.
I see this action quite often.
