Fair point. I’m not obsessed with Don, but I have done a lot of research on him when I heard some of his interviews. They almost seemed unbelievable. I checked to see if casinos were really that dumb to let him get away with his cheesy type of AP play.

What I found is a very different story than I thought I’d find. It’s very different than how the Atantic magazines article paints him.

You’re probably right. The BJ Hall members just voted him in because the Atlantic magazine article made him famous, and they wanted someone famous in their Hall who the public knew about.

I still think the Hall members should think about voting Kerry Packer into the Hall. He was a larger than life figure too, and a big gambler like Don Johson.

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
