Winter returns to the U.P. It is not too bad yet. It looks like the plains and MN are getting the worst. They are predicating up to 10 inches for us, and if we get that it will take out last years snowfall record. I'm glad I didn't head out on a blackjack trip this week.

I spent 1.5 hours snow shoveling yesterday, and it better be the last time for this winter. The storm couldn't compare to last year's April blizzard, but still was bad at the peak with high winds approaching 60 mph. Snow got whipped around pretty good. Some areas got up to 10 inches, and all the schools closed. This storm will delay the spring snow melt by at least 5 days. I still have 2 feet of snow in my back yard. Just think, in 6 months we start all over again.

Today is the warmest day of the year so far. It is great snow melting weather as temp right now is 66. Still have 1 to 2 feet of snow in my back yard.
Notice the sign on the utility pole. It was completely buried under snow and was not visible at all at the height of winter.

21forme jinxed our weather. Last couple days its been snowing some every day. It has been a long time since I remember getting snow in May, but this morning I woke up to a couple of inches accumulation.
The highway in the photo is US-41. It starts at Copper Harbor and goes all the way to Miami. For those that don't know Copper Harbor is the farthest town from any interstate highway in the entire USA.

Although it's not snow, I was recently in a casino when the tornado sirens went off. I'm from the Midwest so I'm not necessarily worried when a tornado siren goes off; I do however prefer to go outside and watch the storm myself and make a judgment call as to when to seek shelter.
All I'm saying is a tornado warning at TC4 is -EV.
