I use KO system in lieu of hi Lo

    Any advice/suggedtions!

Nothing wrong with $100 max. Just have to realize you are playing low limits and wins will be smaller, but also losses. The last time I played Deadwood max bet was $5. Should be able to hit the $10,000 mark in a year if you can get 300 hours of playing time.

Seems that would be a better destination for you than Black Hawk. No traffic, so you'd be comfortable driving there. And there's always your old favorite, Laughlin.

I just checked my records and it was way back in 1993 when I played Deadwood. I lost $187 that day playing blackjack. If I remember correctly, at the place we were staying they had a $2 min bet and $5 max so not much of a spread. It wasn't really a blackjack trip as I had my two teenage boys with me to help with the driving. We left the wife at her mother's and we headed out just us guys. Remember to do things like this with the family when you can. Just a few years later they were all grown and had their own lives.

Don't knock Laughlin. It is actually one of the most inexpensive trips I can make. It is even cheaper than making a trip to the local casino. I have now turned down three comped trips in a row to Laughlin. The problem with Laughlin is the shitty hours they fly. Who wants to arrive back home at 2:00 a.m. in the middle of a blizzard with the airport only open a few minutes to get your luggage and leave a piss.

It appears Black Hawk and Deadwood are similar in many ways. Both places are situated in a valley with steep hills on both sides. The towns are both very small, and betting max is only $100 in both places. The distance from the airport is almost the same for both destinations. Denver airport to Black Hawk is 54.7 miles. Rapid City to Deadwood is 52.9 miles.

Looks like some of the hotels in Deadwood offer airport shuttles.

Deadwood raised its statutory limit to $1000 about 5 years ago, however, not all casinos raised theirs.

Difference may be the availability of tables to play at. Blackhawk seems to have mode.

Didn't know this. I was puzzled when I checked CBJN and saw a couple places offering higher limits upon request. I'm sure asking for higher limits would be an attention getter.

Higher minimums may keep other players away. Lots of bigger bettors ask for higher minimums to get less crowded conditions when things are crowded. The casino will often ask a bigger player to what for 20 minutes so the can increase the minimums to get more space for bigger players. In many casinos as things get busy they up the minimums for this very reason. They don't want bigger players leaving because nickel players are taking up all the spots. They up the minimum and the nickel players either bet bigger and usually lose what they are willing to lose faster or just stop playing at the table. Many nickel players can't afford to gamble the entire time they are there and do a lot of watching anyway.

Usually the best way to get heads up. I have a couple of stores that always open a higher limit table for me, know8ng that I like to play alone. Others already have them open.
