What's happening tonight in Law Vegas

Wanted to fly in to Lax Vegas tonight but everything is expensive. No hotel/ casino rooms in town for under $125. Even cheap places like Motel 6 or others are over $125. A couple of hostels are the only places under $100.

I guess I will change to flights later. What's on this weekend?

Pride Parade in Las Vegas. Don't know if that is the reason for the sellout.

Only whisky Pete, way out in Prim is under $100. 3rd rate motels South of El Cortez are charging more tonight! I am scheduled to fly out this evening, betting into Law Vegas at 9:00 pm.

Last weekend wasn't much different price wise, and I don't recall any major singular events. But for sports betting, we have a major confluence of NFL, college football, MLB playoffs, NBA and NHL. The weather right now is hard to beat. Last weekend, it would get up to about 80, but no humidity and not a cloud in the sky.

What happened to "I play rated so I get room offers and other comps"?

Ah, so good to hear from you. I hAve 3 nights comped at a CET property (monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).

I receive comp offers by email and since you don't know about comps these days, room comps by email do not include busy weekends. They are mostly Monday-Thursday. I got here Thursday night, had a comped room but needed a room for Friday and Saturday.

Yesterday, I stopped by a Motel 6 on Boulder Highway and the price was $215. I did not accept it. An hour later, I was playing $25 DD heads up and telling the dealer and the pit guy logging my Players card that I was having difficulty finding a decent room under $100 and their property was sold out, that even otherwise I would not pay $315 for one night. Pit was sympathetic. A few minutes later the host appeared, tHe me his card, said he would look into it. Minutes later, I had a room for the night, colored up Plus $225, told the pit I will check in and return after nap.

Here it is Saturday morning. Maybe someone will comp me. Advantages of managing players card and playing judiciously.

Realize they always have rooms for big players right until very lose to the last day. At some point they will release rooms just to fill them. Also you have cancellations and no shows. You dot lucky that they hadn't filled the freshly opened room. Saturday will be much tougher as most are full for Friday and Saturday with the same guest. You never know someone might check out early.

Interesting....my place at the Signature/MGM is sold out for the weekend. Must be something major going on in town.

Kinda mind-boggling that he'd buy a plane ticket and just show up, without a room reservation, and without doing any research ahead of time. But I guess it's to be expected from a part-time, recreational traveler.

I had lots of miles, so paid with reward miles. Yes, us part-time players with family as priority never really know when we can travel.

You are right though. No luck for tonight. There is some 2star hotels for $170 tonight. Since I am up at present (6 sessions yesterday ranging from 30 minutes to 75 minutes per to just one loss and 5 wins and I am up $1100 ), I will take one of those if luck does not change. I want to be in hotel for Los Angeles NBA game.

It's 12:40 and I am at the Weera Thai restaurant. Hoping to play on strip tomorrow and anonymously (can use bigger spread).

Freightman, I can't do that because I play rated and maintain my players card. When anonymous, I use a bit larger spread, play 2 hands and more. My rules for playing rated are...

    1. Small spreads.

    2. Short sessions.

    3. Show you are recreational and just waiting for spouse to get done shopping, walk away from a last round of positive shoe. If down, on a good streak and getting close to even, walk away with a $100 loss rather th from $1k down to a win session. Book that loss.

    4. Play different amount at same Tc when being hawked, drop a chip down occasionally when count actually goes up.

    5. be aware of when being watched, double for less, insure for less, bet a Side bet for one round, don't double A,8, ask if you should double A,2 against a 5 or 6. Get in full act mode.

    6. Rat hole a see bit.

So far, I have played 13 sessions rated of $25 minimum, 13 sessions longest being 75 minutes, most averaging 40 minute and average win of just $200+. 2 other unrated in disguise with more spread and higher max bet.

Now, the next 2 days (today and tomorrow), I play unrated more often, spread more. I have ensured comps will continue for a bit longer.
