    8,8 v 6 @ TC=2+ ... sPlit or Double?

***SORRY, TITLE SHOULD READ 4,4 v 6..... (couldn't figure out how to edit the title).

Three helped me before in a previous thread:

    https://www.blackjacktheforum.com/sh...ferrerid=18478

where he provided the hierarchy of decisions…
Yes there is a decision hierarchy procedure.
    1) Insurance
    2) Surrender
    3) Split
    4) Double
    5) Hit/stand

but Three pointed out that pair of 5's is an anomaly of that hierarchy.

Related to that context, I have a similar question / issue but now with 8v5 & 8v6. I've recently added to my indices the 8v5 (dbl at TC=4+) and 8v6 (dbl at TC=2+) to my index arsenal (indices derived by Norm's CVData "index generation" feature). However, the BS play for 4,4v5 and 4,4v6 is sPlit.

So when I have either a 4,4v5 or 4,4v6 what should I do... sPlit as the hierarchy that Three provided shows (because sPlit trumps the Double)? Or, Double as my recent index addition says to (albeit related to a total score of 8, NOT 4,4)? (I suspect the answer is to sPlit per the hierarchy, but would like confirmation from the Pros)

(Note: I cannot verify by simulation the difference by using the Composition Dependent feature in Norm’s CVCX because in the sPlit table the C.D. is not an option, and in the “Hard Hit / Stand” table it does not differentiate for a value of 8 (it combines 2 – 10).
Also, interestingly, Wong’s ’94 Basic Hi Lo has "no split" for 4,4v5 or 6 at any index.)

    Thanks in advance.
