Any job worthy of striving for is full of stress.
Dalmation, I go to some of the same midwest stores as you and am wondering about your experiences with heat, especially at Indian casinos near small airports. Personally I find no heat at all in low stakes, and I'd be surprised to find it in high stakes either. Anything you can share?
Big losses affect me so I prefer trying it another day. Each of us is different. I play a few casinos regularly and I dont mind booking a small loss each time.
In June I played 15 sessions (totaling 26 hours) at 6 casinos, lost 5 sessions and ended up losing $1495 in the month. Then came July and at the same 6 casinos, I played 15 sessions again (31 hours), won 13 of 15 and a total win of $8880 for the month. July was the best month I ever had. My total after the first 7 months is Year to date is $16640 in 219 hours with expenses of $4825 or $54 per hour. I took Freightman's advice and started cutting expenses after running up over $4k the first 6 months.
I just tallied the above. I think my tolerance has gone up and I can feel okay with losing about $1000 in a session. When I lose more, it screws up my day. If I have 2-3 bad sessions in a row, my confidence gets shot and I slowly try to build it back up with small wins, walking away when up $200. After my confidence is restored, I am fine again.
I didn't really read the whole thread. It's late. I'll share a graph of my blackjack play. Maybe that will help. All of our graphs look different. They should all generally trend up, and the more data the smoother the ascent should appear. The ups, downs, blood, sweat, and tears of our grinds are all unique.

I am going to get it for posting this but, for my personality and psychological well being, I use session loss limits. Thus, I can see 5-6 max bet losses but not the 15-20 max bet losses claimed here. Losing more than $1.5k in a session really screws up my day and I hate playing angry or irritated. So sometimes, even when a round of two is left to play, it's "no mas" after 5-6 max bet losses.
Really bad advise. You don't walk away from a big count. You work to hard to find the rare max bet situations. You can't afford to waste them. The deeper you go into the deck the more certain your results are for any TC. Zee would have you play through the bad run and leave right when the best of it hits which has him more often missing his recovery. More often than not a big bet opportunity will start out rough and end with a winning run as those big cards you are betting in anticipation of show up. Limit playing at a disadvantage and maximize playing at an advantage. The frequency distribution ratio of the two has more to do with success than worrying about swings.
