    Post Opinions Needed

Good afternoon: New to the forum and have a few questions for those more advanced than I:

No casino near me on a nightly basis so only bar blackjack available
    - 4 decks
    - dealer cut cut at approx. 1 deck depth
    - 8 positions/table
    - $5 min bet
    - $25 max bet
    - Bankroll of approx. $2000 from poker/whatever

I use basic hi low card count method.

    1. What should count be when bet amount increases?
    2. What should I sit down to begin the session?
    - Have thought $200, but unsure
    3. Is the correct strategy to begin with $5 (min bet) until count is in my favor?

*** If futher details are needed, please let me know and I can provide.

I have stayed away from blackjack because of success in poker, but looking for other avenues................... Thank you very much for any assistance/opinion provided

Is this game a machine? Hand shuffled?

    What are the rules?

You use Hilo but are you proficient and how many indexes are you using?

2,000 is a hail mary bankroll. High risk of ruin.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

    - Blackjack pays 3:2
    - I am not proficient: I follow soft total/hard total/splitting procedures........if that is what you mean.........if not, please tell me.
    - i don't sit down with $2000, I have taken $300.........play until i win $100 or go home...........do not play $2000.

    1. What should count be when bet amount increases?
Depends on the unlisted rules. Probably +2 true count, maybe +1 if the rules are good.
    2. What should I sit down to begin the session?
    30 max bets.

I always enjoy a nice four deck game.

On a 4 deck shoe, let's assume you spread from $5-$50, I would carry with me a minimum of $500 when I sit down at the table. I am not giving you advice, just telling you what I do. I am reluctant to sit at a table without 10 max bets.

It sounds like a great game except for the $25 max bet. If it is a bar game, you may be able to sit out until it is +1TC and then just flat bet $25 till the count goes down below +1TC. If they will allow, you can play multiple hands or add some chips to other players spots if you can.

Thank you. +1TC it is. From what i read above $10X max bet is the amount to carry.

    Thank you again

Great game, so play for all it's worth. I'd increase to $15 on TC +2 and $25 on TC +3 and 2x$25 on TC +5+. Buy in for $200/$400 but always take your full bank roll if poss.
Good chance of going bust but if you don't speculate you can't accumulate and it's such a good game just get another bankroll if you do. Enjoy it while you can. Certainly don't leave when you're up just $100. Keep going.....

    One other thought:

I would qualify that statement; leave whenever you want as long as the shoe isn't currently at a positive count. If it is a place you want to play at regularly, I wouldn't sit there for too long for fear of being backed off unless you know there is little to no heat. But yeah, it doesn't matter how far up or down you are for a session, do not leave if you are in the middle of a shoe playing at a positive count (or there is some other advantageous situation that is not always available, like a dealer exposing hole cards or unusually deep penetration for the game).
