How to create DEMAND for Blackjack

In light of the recent thread about supply and demand in blackjack, I thought I'd create a new thread about how to create demand for blackjack.

You see, I do understand supply and demand, unlike most casino operators.

It really is simple. OFFER A FAIR GAME.

I know it sounds counterintuitive, but the reason people like blackjack is because they know it can be beaten. THEY might not be able to beat it, but a beatable game is attractive to gamblers. Take a look at Pennsylvania. S17 and surrender, by law.

As casinos countinue to offer poor games, (6:5 comes to mind) people stop playing.

Seems to me that Mr. Binion had the same philosophy - offer a fair game.

when i come across 6:5 i know its -ev but i feel my duty to sit down, buy in with a decent stack, min bet wait until i get one blackjack and then make a fuss about getting cheated making the pit and dealer point out it is 6:5 to the rest of the table full of ploppies, so I can then color up all my chips and say loudly you have to be a fucking idiot to play this fake blackjack scam game that cheats you when you get a blackjack, im gonna go play real blackjack at such and such neighboring casino, and walk out.

All of us should feel some responsibility to do our part to educate and force change when we come across this garbage. Obviously do it in a way your comfortable with, and not necessarily in a place your trying to maintain certain pit relations.

I like it, provided you can get a quick Blackjack.
You're at the ploppy table, betting a massive $10, when you get a snapper.

    Player - Hurray, I get a $5 bonus........wait wait......wtf.....that's only $12 return, you shorted me.
Dealer - no sir, you've been payed correctly, this is 6:5
Player - what kind if horseshit, you've cheated me $3.00 (now, to he table), this a fucking rip off, I'm going somewhere else.

Get up and go to another casino - you mean like that

Here's the problem you all fail to understand: the public are flaming imbeciles. Morons, brain-dead cretins with the IQ of an earthworm. Single-celled amoeba. When 6:5 was created at Bally's Las Vegas, they trumpeted it in their huge sign over the Strip: Blackjack pays 6 to 5!! Since 6 is twice as big as 3, they public thought it was a great deal and flocked to the tables!

NOTHING you can say or do to 95% of the people who play the game will do the slightest good. When Bally's A.C. introduced single-zero roulette, they put the wheel right next to their double-zero game. The latter was overflowing with people; you had to elbow your way to the felt. The former was EMPTY! Have I mentioned that the masses are asses?!

You can stand on the Strip or outside any casino and give out flyers explaining the disaster that 6:5 blackjack is, and it wouldn't deter anyone from playing (not to mention that they might find your body in the desert next day!). Never forget: no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.

Okay, my curiosity is piqued. Who is more subtle - Don or me.

Btw, I agree with his assessment. For additional entertainment value, Don, if you will - kindly espouse your opinions on casino management.

    This is a true story.

I was playing at a local casino when a person walked up and ask the dealer where he could find the 6:5 blackjack tables. The dealer proudly said not in this casino sir, every single table is 3:2. The guy responded by saying I just got back from Vegas and all the Vegas casinos have 6:5. Do you mean to tell me you deal a better game than they deal in Vegas?

I really thought the key was to give away cooking utensils on a Thursday and Tupperware on Monday.
