Yeah but do they pay you if you tie on naturals? My biggest gripe is the casino I play regularly is prone to cheat me on mispays whenever the opportunity arises.
Did you mean H17 or did you play in one of the high limit rooms?
There are two blackjack choices at Foxwoods:
The Newport Room and the high limit room in the Fox Tower are 6 deck, 3:2, S17.
The main floors of all three casinos are 8 deck, 3:2, H17.
The deep penetration makes the main floor quite playable.
Yes, the pen on the 8 deck games can approach 90% and you can spread, spread, spread. Red chippers especially. My base bet is $25 and I spread 1-19 just to keep my max under $500. I know $10 players who spread 1-30 with no problems.
There are a couple of rule differences between the two casinos that are pretty insignificant but I'll mention them anyway. You can split 10s at Foxwoods but not at the Sun. Except for 10s and aces there is unlimited pair resplitting at MS while at Foxwoods it's split 3 times for a total of 4 hands.
I've played the Mohegan Sun 6 deck S17 and the Foxwoods 8 Deck H17 for years and the difference has been negligible.
Mohegan Sun 6:5 tables now total 46 after 4 more were added in the Casino Of The Sky. They are S17.
The locations of these tables are:
Casino Of The Earth - 30 tables and Casino Of The Wind - 8 tables. These are all H17.
Casino Of The Sky - 8 tables all S17.
They are not all open at the same time.
There are two pits in the Casino Of The Earth that pay 3:2. One has $25 minimums and the other has $15 minimums. Both are 8 decks, H17.
The Casino Of The Sky also has two 3:2 pits. One is near the entrance to the Riverview Garage and the other is near the SolToro restaurant. Both are 8 deck, H17. They are usually $15 minimums as well.
For S17 you must play the high limit rooms/pits at $50 to $100 minimums. Check them carefully. The one in the Earth has been using 8 decks while the one in the Sky has been using 6.
Does anyone think that Foxwoods will not be following the 6:5 trend? They were the first to go to H17 after all. I've heard some disturbing rumblings but nothing concrete yet. They are playing it close to the vest while awaiting the opening of MGM Springfield.
last trip to the sun was a few weeks ago and it's been way more of a grind just to break even at the $50 pit by the wolf den ever since they went 8 decks. was told the $100 pit in casino of the sky is still 6 deck. It had gone 8 deck temporarily until enough players complained and it went back to 6. Hoping the same happens for the $50 tables but I'm not optimistic. Anyone hearing anything on more changes to come?
I am surprised that they listen to anything that the players say. Who do you complain to? Mohegan would have such an advantage over other casinos in the region if they just stuck to their traditional six deck rules.
Btw, I recently told a guy playing stacks of black chips to stay away from 6:5. I hope he listened!
A benefit of this change is that the dealers for the most part deal down now to one deck at the 8D tables. I have observed this at number of times on recent trips. After the change in the rules, the penetration was inconsistent. Some dealers were still cutting off two decks. So, I have to admit, since I am not a fan of Mohegan, that the 8D, H17, 3:2 game is equally as good as Foxwoods. Foxwoods has a slight advantage in my opinion since every table has these rules except in the HL room. So, there are more tables to choose from whereas Mohegan has fewer and, it seems, fewer of these tables available. For example in the earth casino they have nudged out the 3:2 tables with more roulette and Spanish 21.
