I get that this is the mainstream AP view, but it doesn’t mean it’s correct. “The 18 different ways” this has been analyzed is by the same people who have an agenda...people who don’t want casinos to kick out advantage players.

Question: If what you’re saying is correct, why does Max Rubin backoff so many low level counters at Barons? Hasn’t he got the memo? As I’m sure you know, Max Rubin was an AP and he’s in the Blakcjack Hall of Fame, but now he works for the other side at Barona. This casino is one of the smartest and is known to backoff card counters quickly. I know some that have been backed off there.

I’ve made this point before, but I think it went over everybody’s head. When a marginal counter gets backed off (which is very rare), this makes him more valuable to the casinos since now he thinks he has the game to beat them. Backoffs don’t hurt revenue since these people just keep playing anyway. When has a backoff stopped someone from playing blackjack? That’s when my carreer started in earnest. I felt like I was now in the big leagues; I just needed to learn how “to get away with it”.

As as far as James Grosjean, I’ve read some of his articles and I don’t think he has clue. His articles have already been discussed at length on his forum so I won’t go into it here.

One last comment: When you say it’s “relatively meaningless” for a casino to lose money to a winning Counter, I can tell you don’t understand how a business thinks. Losing money in different ways is called leakage. No business, big or small, wants to have leakage; they all want to increase their profits and revenue. It doesn’t matter how much they are already making, they want to make more. This is true of all businesses, including casinos. Liberals call this greed. Most intelligent people call it smart business. It’s always surprised me how little APs understand business and how and why they operate.
Do you actually think that anyone on the board cares if you disagree with Tarzan, or that you think James Grosjean does not have a clue?

Casinos are all too stupid to realize that any leakage they have is due to their own faulty misconceptions, and principles that are in fact hurting the bottom line. The top brass only concern is just to keep their jobs and nothing else. What better way to accomplish this is by getting reasonable consistent returns. The last thing they want is having a big year, where higher expectations become the norm, risking their jobs.

Bosox, yes I do. That’s why I made my post. I know there are APs like you that have a closed mind and they won’t want to hear a different viewpoint, but I do think there are some that value diversity of opinion.

Btw, do you live in America? This is what made America great...freedom of speech and people with a diversity of opinions. It’s sad that you are unable to process information that doesn’t fit within your worldview.

A diversity of opinion is good for everyone, but you have earned yourself a reputation that let's just say that you lack experience in gaming knowledge.

You're right. Even a verbostic non sensical turd, such as yourself, is entitled to voice his ridiculous redundant opinion.

What is it about this forum that attracts all those who never know when to STFU?

The Peter Principle is alive and well in the corporate halls of North America, and as Bosox has so aptly commented, within the Casino halls as well.

So true, having a great year is a recipe for dressing downs the following year in corporate America, and thus, the management minions strive to limit growth, lest they be penalized by lofty revenue targets the following year.

You know why I make these posts? I actually want to see if one of the intelligent APs on this site have a rebuttal. Second, I think there are people on this forum that think like me, but are too afraid to speak up due to the bullies that will try to shut them down, since their thoughts aren’t conforming to conventional AP orthodoxy. I think there are people like me that respects casinos, likes their employees, understand their business model, but still wants to beat them.

It’s also kind of fun taking on the class bozos (Freighman, Bosox, Three and 21forme). I know I’ll never get a coherent argument from them. It’s usually insults, name calling or bragging about how much money they won. It really is quite amusing and reminds me of my junior high days.

Btw, my favorite response from the Freightman/Bosox tandem is when Bosox told me how impressive it was to see Freightman split 10s while giving the table the evil eye. This is still on my bucket list.

No point responding to a quack. Lot more fun calling you a fucking idiot. A turd would wither at your verbostic non sensical onslaught.
