    I would probably surmise that the reason this is one of the top RA plays, is because your edge(vs hitting) doesnt change much as the count increases, unlike 10 vs A where it does increase substanially as the count increases.. Ths is because if dealers increaseg chance of having a Ten in the hole..Its definitely a ballsy play with a max bet on the line..That being said, i would probably double at the EV Max index with an Xtra Ace in the deck..

    Essentially, yes. just consider the various possibilities of where you win lose or tie - and the beauty of those surplus aces.
