Please help to provide Basic Strategy

    Rules :-

    1) 6 deck, S17, peek.
    2) DOA, DAS
    3) RSA2( Pair A, A split to max 2 hands only), RS4( other pair can split to max 4 hands)
    4) ES10
    5) Split (A, A) can ONLY STAND or Double but NOT HIT, Example (A,A vs 6), split to form 2 hands (A,2) and (A,4), then you can DOUBLE( or STAND) BUT NOT HIT !

Please help to provide correct basic strategy with consideration of Rule 5.

    Thanks

    James989,

Can you DD for less? For example, with a $100 bet, if you split AA vs. 9 and on the first A you draw a 4, can you DD for, say, only $1?

    Dog Hand

See http://gronbog.org/results/blackjack...litAces.6.html which is the same strategy generated independently by me.

lds means to double for any amount but for a little as possible, otherwise stand
dls means to double for any amount but for as much as possible, otherwise stand
ls means to double for less only of you can do so for less than the critical fraction of your initial bet.

If you hover your mouse over the data in a given cell, you will see the expected value of each available action. In the case of A,3 vs A, you will see

Double for zero (theoretical) has an EV of -0.31 or -31% of your original bet
Double for the full amount has an EV of -0.62 or -62% of your original bet
Double for other amounts will have an EV between these two extremes
Stand has an EV of -0.66 or -66% of your original bet

This is why the strategy for this hand is to double for as little as possible. It is a defensive play. Basic strategy would be to hit, but you don't have that option. The next best option is to pay as little as possible to take a card. The less you can double for, the closer this becomes to hitting.

Of special note are A,6 vs T and A and A,7 vs 9 and T. For these hands you double for less only if you can do so for less than the critical fraction of your original bet, otherwise stand. Hovering your mouse over A,7 vs T you will see that the critical fraction is 4.86%. That is, if you had bet $100, you would need be able to double for $4 or less.

    Thanks, Gronbog.

Could you please help me to generate the similar strategy table for these scenarios :-

    (A)
    1) 6 deck, S17, peek.
    2) DOA, DAS.
    3) RSA2( Pair A, A split to max 2 hands only), RS4( other pair can split to max 4 hands).
    4) ES10.
    5) Split (A, A) can ONLY STAND or Double but NOT HIT.

    (B)
    1) 6 deck, S17, No Peek.
    2) DOA, DAS.
    3) RSA2( Pair A, A split to max 2 hands only), RS4( other pair can split to max 4 hands).
    4) ES10.
    5) Split (A, A) can ONLY STAND or Double but NOT HIT.

    (C)
    1) 8 deck, S17, peek.
    2) DOA, DAS.
    3) RSA2( Pair A, A split to max 2 hands only), RS4( other pair can split to max 4 hands).
    4) ES10.
    5) Split (A, A) can ONLY STAND or Double but NOT HIT.

    (D)
    1) 8 deck, S17, No Peek.
    2) DOA, DAS.
    3) RSA2( Pair A, A split to max 2 hands only), RS4( other pair can split to max 4 hands).
    4) ES10.
    5) Split (A, A) can ONLY STAND or Double but NOT HIT.

Usually there's no difference between 6 and 8 decks in terms of basic strategy. So just find the difference between peek and no peek. (probably just not wanting to double 11 v A)

Assuming that the no peek rule is to lose all of your doubles and splits (ENHC), and with ES10, the doubling/splitting strategy for Aces vs T and A will change and the post-split strategy for split aces may change. I can generate that for you. As CC says, there will be no difference between 6 and 8 decks.

Please help to generate 8 deck BS for peek and no peek. Thanks

I don't think rule 5 would change any of your basic strategy decisions. You're still always going to want to split aces. Just use normal 6D S17 basic strategy, and surrender 14, 15, and 16 vs 10, 16 v 9, and 8,8 and 7,7 vs 10.

Agree - you're always going to split aces (with the possible exception of extremely low counts in a DD game). So just view the option to DAS as a sweetener - definitely improves the SCORE of the game.
