It's commendable you rise to Zee's defense, albee. Just don't expect reciprocity. Coupla years ago on GC, Kewlj was attacked by several members, and Zee joined the feeding frenzy--despite the fact that kewlj was about his only defender on that board. I can't imagine such betrayal by Chairman. And despite his boorishness, his posts are generally most valuable. But I'm a pragmatist.
You are wrong! I liked and still like and admire KJ. I just said he was wrong in his fights with Norm, that he had to let go of that.

I joined another forum he was on primarily because I believed his BJ strategies and longevity steps were good and I learned from him. Unfortunately that forum banned me at the urging of someone on this forum.

Norm banned me for a short period, the others permanently.

i take insurance when index calls for it or take insurance for less when count is positive but not negative so my image is that i usually take insurance and not only when bet is large.. you adjust your account including cards in your hand when taking insuramce, meaning if you have two tens your count just dropped. You should be less likely to insure good hands than bad hands, a hand of 20 is two 10 that dealer cant have. In handheld you peak at your neighbors to see if they have tens or not.

I recall a horrible story (think it was on a GWAE episode) about a robbery in Vegas.

Guy who had a nice win was followed home. The perp(s) knocked on the door with a shotgun and told him to let them in, and to hand over every single banknote and chip in the house - saying that if they found even a dollar he held back, they'd use the shotgun.

Stupid things I see in a casino. Putting pictures up of people, how much they won, their name, and city. Having a drawing a listing the big winners for the day on the TV screen and picture. The guy (rejoicing and agonizing) on a game in the sportsbook, informing complete strangers of his pick and points. Not everyone is watching the game. Some are watching the ones watching the game.

The out of town guy with a wad of cash compelled to go back and show an attractive dealer he won it all back. Who might she know? Who might see this? I did.

Most people are good people. When they here of your success, they are happy for you, even the employees. Life is not much fun when you go about it always worried that folks are out hunting for people with cash. My experience, in 70 years, never been robbed, mugged, assaulted etc. Don't let the media convince you that the world is full of evil. Only the very rich are.

Agreed. Always be aware and alert when carrying large amounts of cash on yourself. Sometimes I even keep it in my shoes rather than my wallet. Take it as advice from someone who was almost mugged.

Casinos attract all kinds of people. That includes the less-than-savoury types..

This situation of people casing you out, tailing you out of the casino and perhaps all the way to your front door has been used in multiple locations numerous times. Apparently this is popular. Always be careful, always be looking over your shoulder and taking all reasonable precautions. Most people are good people, sure, I'll go with that, but it doesn't take that many bad ones mixed in to cause an issue! I go to great lengths for my personal security, not to be fun and fashionable, but because it just makes a lot of sense and I've seen and heard of a lot that goes on over the years.

It's a corollary to "OSN is meaningless. Just keep playing rated..."

Back in my Trump Plaza (RIP) days, I would often exit the casino by going down the escalator toward the Boardwalk entrance, then turn around and go back up, before leaving for real. Maybe that's an advantage of playing in "slimy" casinos/cities. You're always on alert.

I look all around me, ask security (not AP protocol, but I don't give a shit, at least in my neck of the woods) to walk me to my car if Unsavoury types knew I had funds. I never go directly back to my hotel, preferring to take twists and turns to insure that I am not being followed.

Media? That's funny. You and those who believe this read are blissfully unaware and the perfect hit. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time isn't always by coincedence.

Nice post from a fellow with casino savvy. It doesn't need to need to happen in multiple locations and numerous times. Once is enough to make you a believer. The guy that hit $100k drawing suddenly acquired many friends. He was broke with a week, asking his true friends, "why won't he call me back"? Zee, this wasn't on the 6 o'clock news in Cape Girardeau. MO. It's called word of mouth and it travels very, very fast.

Good vs Evil has little to do with it. Smart and caution have everything to do with it.

Agreed emphatically, Freightman. Makes one wonder how much AP experience he's actually had. The vast majority of Americans aren't mass shooters, but it only takes .0000001% to negate them. I'm always alert for that fraction wherever I go, not just casinos (America needs more lerts). This isn't the 1950s anymore!
