Not too long ago in a far away land but still in USA I was playing blackjack in a casino that had all the tables open in the pit (about 10 tables). I was playing at a $10 min table and spreading from red to green. Most of the other folks were just playing red except one person who was also playing rainbow red and green.

At first the table was doing quite badly and the other person left for another table. Soon after he left I started winning and was accumulating a combination of red and green and occasionally coloring up some of my red for green. I almost dropped some of my chips on the floor once, but I thought I caught all of them. Chip wise I usually know pretty much where I stand all the time.

Eventually I decided to call it a night and colored up. As I was leaving the table a waitress walked by and said there was a $25 dollar chip on the floor so I came back to the table.. A young ploppy quickly picked it up, but he was only betting red. The other folks at the table said it was not theirs as they were honest and only were betting red. I thought the chip might be mine but wasn't sure. Anyway I claimed it and no one questioned that I shouldn't have it.

Now what I usually do in in this situation is give the chip to the dealer as a tip if its a dollar or even a $5 chip, but no way was I going to give the dealer a green chip. The chip really could have come from anywhere even rolled from the next table, but that table was a $5 min table so I doubt if. The waitress continued walking and was long gone and I never saw her. I really felt the chip was either mine or the person who was earlier playing red and green and then left for another table.

Now wanting to be honest, I decided to ask the player who left my table if he lost a chip, but right away I could tell he was trying to con me. I could tell the other folks at his table thought I was an idiot for even asking as they were laughing. I decided I wasn't going to give the chip to him as he was just as much in the dark as I was about whose chip it was. I offered to split it with him, but then he said I could have it.

Okay, who should get the chip? What would you do?
