Need a mentor. I lite tables on fire just to burn the winnings somewhere else

Looking for some good card counting books and a mentor

I have been playing blackjack for about three years now off and on.. Here and there. One month lived off of just gambling winnings. Over the years had several +1K winning sessions. My best record off of 200 bucks was 4200 in 72 hours. Those sessions usually last a couple hours to several days. I enjoy the game and I enjoy making the right bets at the right time. I understand 94% of all BS plays.

When I walk into a casino calm cool and collected, I usually destroy the table and that is with out counting.

Yesterday started at 200 and made it to 1200 in under 3 hours. From what I read from you guys I was gambling. I like winning and playing more than I like losing (who doesnt). Went home with the rush and went back this am.. It took me 10 minutes to burn all of that other than maybe 180 bucks. I am clearly gambling, shame on me.

I enjoy the game enough to know that I have more common sense than the average player. I get fucked when I win and keep going rather than throw the breaks on. I need direction.

    look forward to any direction!

I want to lite the table on fire not my winnings!!!!

Blackbelt in Blackjack is a good book to start with. When counting, you will have many losing days. The swings can be insane. It's not uncommon to generate 100$ worth of EV and find yourself down $3,000, as an example.

I think it might be helpful if you described a bit more about what you know. What kind of count do you use, spread, indices, what type of game & rules, etc. Obv. don't share anything you don't want to or that could identify you.

IMO there's a wide range of where you can fall into. Anywhere between the "I watched a TV show on card counting and that's all my experience learning it" to "I use HiLo + Ill18, 1-12 spread on 5/6 pen game with 3:2, DAS, LS, RSA, and my EV is $52/hr...etc"

W.T.F.? Are you suggesting that you are sometimes
    guessing at the
correct play? It sounds to me like you
are gambling and while I am the 'mentor emeritus' here
and I do not accept being paid. I do not tutor those who
want to gamble. I do not mentor those with a gambling
addiction either. "Advantage Play" is for those who do NOT
want the "action" to enjoy themselves. They want a source
of slowly generated realistically moderate side-income or
they are looking to play as semi-professionals. One can say
that I am a dinosaur as my Professional play began in 1992
after a decade of "recreational counting"

My most current two students were looking for tuition money
before they start medical school this Fall. They studied and
practiced as per my direction. They played mostly very good
games. They have won a middle five-figure sum this year but
that will only pay for their first year of medical school. They
are now both in O.S.N. and have learned to be "moving targets", plundering casinos
without the dubious benefit of comp's.

    Teamunicorn,

Follow these steps and maybe you’ll have a shot of playing a winning game one day:

    1) Purchase some books. Professional Blackjack by Stanford Wong and Blackbelt in Blackjack by Arnold Snyder is a good place to start.

    2) Read through the various forums (Blackjack The Forum, Blackjackinfo, BJ21, Blackjack Apprenticeship, etc). I would pay for a one month membership at BJ21 to read all of the valuable posts on the Green Chip forums.

    3) Buy Norm’s software, Casino Verite, on Qfit.com. He has some other very valuable software (CVCX and CVData), but just focus on CVBJ for now.

    4) Download an app on your phone called “Blackjack 101.” I believe it’s available for Android and iOS and it’s free. It’s a great tool to help you learn basic strategy.

    5) If you decide to browse for information on YouTube, stay away from all of the scammers out there like Michael Morgenstern and “Blackjack Innovator.” If I was browsing YouTube for info, I’d watch the instructional videos from Blackjack Apprentice exclusively and watch some of the documentaries on there like The Hot Shoe and some of the Breaking Vegas episodes.

    6) Learn about the necessary bankroll requirements in order to play this game, along with the risks involved.

I’m sure I could add more to this list, but this should be enough to keep you busy for now.

    Contact me via email.
    Provide address here.
    Delete ASAP afterward.

Provide me with a profile of yourself as it relates to blackjack,
etc. Tell me your age, your general location, your education level
, your native language, your experiences playing BJ ~ for
how long, for approximately what stakes. using what count(s)
    ,
etc. What books have you read and which have you STUDIED?

I may very well reference "Blackjack Attack", 3rd ed. or "The Theory of Blackjack", "Blackbelt in Blackjack." but not other books.

If you are located in the USA, and it is convenient enough,
I will spend time teaching you, [face to face], either in
my home or in a casino hotel suite, etc. In many cases
such is implausible and email suffices. FaceTime or Skype
for video conferencing is helpful. Having a winning game is highly nuanced. I expect my students to study and practice.
I am an Aristotelian type of teacher so I strongly encourage
my students to create a list of questions and issues for me.

Don't bother offering to pay me anything beyond a very
cheap lunch or a cup of coffee. Just say something like:
"Thanx Flash. It is great to find an altruist who will give up
    some of their time."

My experience is 3 years of blackjack play... From card counting at home I can maintain the count, Hi-Lo, at home watching YouTube and listening to someone talk.. plus or minus one on a two card deck when practicing... Most of the time though I'm spot on...

Everything you said in paragraph two, I get an idea of what it's for. But don't understand how everything in paragraph two matters to my game when you combine all the variables.

I guess what does EV stand for and how do all the other vars affect EV?

Please go back and re-read my last post. Follow those steps. You need to build a foundation and you don’t seem to have it yet.

Just out of curiosity, those of you that are looking for mentors -
what exactly are you hoping to get out this, beyond what you can do alone?
