Thoughts about Casino Industry efforts to Improve Table Game Monitoring for Marketing

Just read the following online article, and was wondering how people on this forum perceive the industry's efforts.

    https://www.cdcgamingreports.com/com...e-information/

Do you read it as written, being a review of industry efforts to improve table game monitoring to better tailor casino marketing efforts for players, or.....?

That is very interesting. I wonder if the software they are using to track betting could also keep track of a count to correlate bet sizes with counting... If it can't, I think it's only a matter of time. A casino can determine fairly accurately the likelihood someone at their tables are counting... which would make a good cover strategy more important.

Yep. I think this is a recipe for disaster for APs; however, I believe the blackjack community has overcome greater obstacles than this.

As AI improves its a sure bet they could do it. Wonder how the general public will react when more and more non-APs are tossed because they are winning by luck. Once everyone knows the casino tosses anyone who wins, maybe people will react in some way?

Given a big enough data set (and I imagine not *that* big, given the accuracy of machine learning and the simplicity of bet ramps, and card counting in general, from a computer's perspective), they'll not be throwing many non-APs out for winning by luck. On the contrary, they'll be able to confirm with some certainty that a ploppy did simply win by luck, and not advantage play. It will be the counters who have been good at camouflage against humans that will need to figure out how to win and have the patterns make it look like luck. I'm actually not sure it can be done long term except by strategies that allow for flat betting (e.g. BP team play) or generous opposition betting.

Will certainly be interesting to see how this unfolds. Certainly has my brain grapes working...

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
