Thread: Why attack?

    Why attack?

In my opinion, in a perfect world an OP posts something....people read it. Maybe they get something from it, maybe they don't. Maybe someone responds to the OP by answering a question the OP asks , or shares knowledge with the OP...Why is it that it can't be that simple? Usually what happens, it seems to me, is people try to prove how smart they are or whatever and insult someone in the thread.

LeBron James dunks over an opponent, then he puffs up and glares at him....he is a human so is the guy he dunked over.....why does it seem to be that so many people feel the need to act like this....treat others as you would like to be treated.....that's how I live my life. But maybe that's stupid, and I'm just a little pu*sy.

It is so discouraging reading some of these threads because they are often filled with chest bumping and pissing contests. I challenge anyone who reads this to go out every day and make someone else's life better. Don't think about yourself. Look for ways to brighten another person's day.

The price of being a full timeAP, working among drunks, losers, the emotional roller coaster ride and such is that it turns most into nasty characters. Side effects.

It's why, the smart ones quit after a few years, go into other careers, get into better communities, marry, settle down and such.

Most of the shit thrown my way is from the full time AP's and the 20 something newbies. These full time AP's know all about BJ, have little to learn but are here every day, cause they have nothing else. I get on a forum to learn, they like to think they are on the forum to help newbies but really, it's just a rationalization. They are lonely screwed up folks from having been in casinos too many hours playing cat and mouse games with the heat and nowhere to go.

Thats pretty harsh, didn't you kinda end up doing just what the poster was complaining about?

Did I attack the poster? Did I deviate from the OP? After 3-4 years of experience with several BJ forums, I noticed that nastiness mentioned by the OP comes from folks who are long term AP's who attack a poster ignoring the thread.

I 100% agree with Zeebabar. What I've noticed is when APs loses an augurment or they do not understand a point I'm trying to make, they immediately start calling me names or making fun of my play, even though it was nothing to do with the topic. They have a hard time auguring a point in a civil manner. They usually attack the poster rather than his ideas.

I wonder if it comes from years of playing in a casino where they aren't wanted. The casinos don't want them (for obvious reasons), the ploppies usually don't care for them (most APs are not into bringing harmony to the table) and the dealers don't like them since most don't tip. This has got to wear down an AP physiologically and start making them insensitive to other people's feelings.

This is not all APs. There are many on this forum that try to respond to other posters with respect, even though they don't agree with their ideas.

    Dbs6582,

I think you’re wrong. Most of the APs that I’ve met, and those in my circle, are all really good people. Not to say all are like that, but majority are; and I’ve met a lot of people in the community. I think you’re mistaking the fact that most APs won’t suffer fools.

Zeebabar has a history of repetitive posting, extreme trolling, and constantly expects to be spoon fed information. Zee has been like that since day one, so naturally, some posters lose their patience with him. I wonder if Zee feels the same way towards car enthusiasts as he seems to get the same response on car forums as well.

Point taken! I probably painted too broad of a brush with my comments. Sorry about that. I have also met APs by happen chance and become good freinds with them even though they live halfway across the country from me. We've shared phone numbers and regularly text each other, and try to meet up to play together. I trust some of them as much as I'd trust my best friends who I've know my whole life.

So I'll walk back my comments. Since there are some posters on this site that dominate (who enjoy putting people down...reminds me of my junior high school days with the bullies patrolling the hallways), they have probably skewered my view of the larger AP community. This community is probably like most communities... there are all types, good, bad and in between.

I note the very last line of your post. That was never Ustonzen's approach, so why is it theoretically yours? In fact, it seems like your posts in general are designed to develop festering cold sores. For example, the second line of your post.

To be clear, you have no point to make - simply a supplier of useless dribble.

Those battle scars endured only harden the AP. If they show a somewhat lack of sensitivity at times so what. What they provide is far more valuable. Do you think the casinos are sensitive to players losses regardless of any possible incured situation?

Personally, I think the bad mouthing comes from wannabes and not those with a decent track record of AP. All the APs I know are nice guys only too willing to help and have nothing to prove.
