    Smile UK new player

    Hi

I have a trip planned to Vegas initially mainly for the drinking and shows.

However I thought I might have a little dabble on the casinos and after a little research it appears your best odds are playing Blackjack.

So after a little more research it soon became apparant what appears to be a simple game can get incredibly complex and I am totally intrigued by this.

I am starting to play online games and using the basic strategy cards you can get.

I was wondering what is the best tips for a newbie to pick up, I can see card counting etc can be used but need to keep it simple enough to grasp and learn relativity quickly on online games.

If I can spend a few hours playing in Vegas break even and enjoy the free drinks then I will be more than happy.Rather than lose my budget in 30 minutes

    Thanks

Pick the best rules. Have a strategy card that matches your games rules. Since you are at a disadvantage play at a busy "fun" table. Plenty of opportunity to socialize, and the game moves on "slower" which is in your interest. Don't bet crazy. If you are fortunate, and variance is in your favor (luck?) then you should be able to get some card playing in. Keep in mind you eventually lose when playing at a disadvantage. Walk away from any 6:5 tables.

Hi Spike that good advice thanks. I am practising online and have noticed if you play 3 hands it seems to work out better. Is this true on a real table. Also does the general basic strategy card cover most casinos in Vegas. As I have learnt most of the one I printed from the net.

There is a different strategy card for each set of rules. Someone else here can tell you what is the best rules to study for based on game availability at your betting level.

If there is a possibility you might lose your budget in thirty minutes, or break even but enjoy the free drinks, find another way to get the free drinks. Be creative, sit at a video poker machine and pretend your playing when the drinks server comes by, or go to the keno room and pick up lost game tickets on seats and ask for free drinks. If it comes down to you playing BJ for your free drinks a better option would be to just pay for your drinks.

I enjoy learning blackjack but have never played a casino..So with a budget of 300 dollars. I would like to think this would last a few hours each day for 3 days.

I say the best games to play for drunk hustling are low limit craps at a full table or a mini baccarat game that moves quite slowly.

Video Poker at the bar, $20 in the machine, $20 to the bartender. That gets you and a friend an hour of drinking, if you are slow or lucky. Good for comps.
