Best Non-Vegas Locale for Vacation with Wife and Multiple Blackjack Venues

Okay, the wife wants to get away on a vacation during July. We have gone overseas the past few years, and I have played in Western Canada, and a couple of countries that years ago I never dreamed of visiting, in Eastern and Western Europe.

Now, I am interested in US locations for vacation, with multiple casinos offering ASM or Hand shuffled blackjack games. She is a good sport and deals with me going to the casinos for hours on end to get some cash (my personal ATM, when not playing at my local haunts, I do fairly well - being modest). She takes advantage of that time at the spa or going to plays (some plays I tag along with as they seem interesting to me as well).

Not interested in hiking, rafting, helicopter rides or other types of entertainment.

Trip will likely last 7-10 days, as I cannot afford to be away from work any longer than that this summer.

    Thoughts about non-LV vacation destinations?

Thank you in advance for all sincere suggestions.

San Diego, at least 8 Las Vegas style Indian casinos around the area.

How about Deadwood and Rapid City SD for something different. Play your blackjack in Deadwood and do your sight seeing near Rapid City.

Visit Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, Wind Cave, Crazy Horse Statue. I enjoyed my one trip there.

Will look into this on cbjn. Thanks.

Checked out cbjn. Other than Cadillac Jacks (few tables) table max all around is only $100. Not interested in that “opportunity”.

I agree with this suggestion, plenty of places to play in Deadwood and plenty of sights to see and things to do in the black hills of South Dakota.

Tahoe is a beautiful place to visit. Not the best BJ but if you aren't spoiled with great games you might be very comfortable with their offerings. It should be kind of cool but at that altitude the sun will be brutal in July. Not much atmosphere to filter the sun's rays. Bring sunscreen rated infinity. If you have never been to Lake Tahoe it is a must visit in your lifetime. I would pick September but the summer heat is a lot better than most places in the US. The west coast is where the cool weather will be found. The Pacific keeps things cool in the summer. Anything from the center of the country on Eastward will likely be hot and HUMID. The humidity might come and go the further North you get but you can't predict in advance when it will be brutal hot and humid or when the air will be drier.

Seems clear from your post that you haven't been to Tahoe in years, if ever, but we all know you're an expert on every subject. The BJ there is awful.

Ever visited Sacramento in the summer? Once you get more than 15-20 miles from the Pacific, the cooling effect is gone.

No AP would be comfortable with their offerings, even those used to mediocre games.

Have you been to Chicago? The food, the Art Institute, the Cubs...and yes, there's a few casinos. I love Chicago.

East Coast? PA has (really) good games, and you're near shopping and entertainment.

Southern California. Beautiful weather, the Blackjack Hall of Fame...

Thanks, but Chicago in July? Hot and humid?

btw, my wife hates shopping, except amazon.

PS - Unless the Cubs or the White Sox are hosting the Red Sox, who cares? Note my username?

[QUOTE=Frank Galvin;246731]Thanks. Chicago in July? Hot and humid?[\QUOTE]

There's a biggish lake which creates a breeze...

I have been there in August, and it wasn't uncomfortable. You can see the bean, too.

And your wife hates Tiffany's? I've never met a woman who didn't enjoy millionaires mile in Chicago.

Well, whenever we meet up next, brunch will be on you, and we’ll have to bring our better halves. She hates shopping and schmying around.

Will check out cbjn for local opps. Thanks.
