In Australia, we also have a famous BJ variant called Pontoon. A Pontoon 21 wins and is paid immediately. All player 21s beat dealer Pontoon, but not all player 21s are paid 3:2.

No shuffle tracking or counting. There is another technique to anticipate aces in BJ shoe games.

Wow, that's a pretty drastic counter measure for someone who is spreading to 7 spots! That casinos wasn't playing around...they could see spreading to 7 spots was cleaning their clock. That should be a lesson for us here in USA. Don't spread to 7 spots or the casinos will all go to CSM. Lol

This is a boutique casino, it is not capable of withstanding windfalls.

I was thinking to check CC up, but it would be cheaper to hit Crown.

No the 7 spot spreader was properly countermeasured a few weeks ago. I have the feeling that this final nail was largely due to myself.

Time to learn how to AP poker I guess.

I wondered the exact same thing. I need to go up there sometime soon and find out.

The actual casino, possibly not. The Federal Group as a whole absolutely can.

It was probably the ol' one two punch that caused this casino to go to CSM. The seven spreader weekened them and had their guards up and you took them out with your expert AP play. They probably got tired of putting in various countermeasures, so they decided to put in the one that is fail safe. The good ol' CSM.

I wish you the best with AP poker play!

CSM's can be beaten. It just isn't by counting. The edge you can get is better than the edge from counting. Casinos are foolish to think the make more money from CSM's by thwarting counters. The AP's that specialize in CSM's probably win more than the sum of the army of counters. Plus lots of ploppies, especially those that play for higher stakes, refuse to play CSM's. How do you make more money by cutting off your biggest revenue generators?

Three, I was only speculating on what caused the casino to do this. I was not commenting on if this was a smart move or not. The casinos should be able to figure this out by looking at their revenues and profits before and after CSM. As you've stated, this is probably a dumb move in some places, but in other places this could be a smart move.

My dream AP situation is to have a huge edge dealt from a CSM.
