The funny thing is a lot of professionals would have me proofread their stuff. Maybe they just wanted me to read it but I am pretty good at spotting other peoples grammatical errors.

I think the problem is the way I construct a post. After writing a sentence I insert phrases and clause and more details that I think should be included. The damn sentence can become a confusing monster before I am done. I have noticed I often use pronouns too frequently. Lately I have been going back and adding the noun in place go the pronoun. Thanks, I appreciate the somewhat backhanded compliment.

Casinos also pay a lot of tax and hefty licence fees and this money goes straight into the public purse.

I remember the old illegal casinos that used to exist before licenced casinos became a reality. They were generally set up along ethnic lines and were always being raided and shut down by the police. Today, this gambling is done under proper supervision in a safe environment. My local house of chance employs around 3000 people, full and part time. Unfortunately, some patrons do exhibit problem gambling behaviour and this usually stems from some life event that didn't go to plan. They believe that a big win will fix their problems but in the vast majority of cases it just puts them deeper in the hole.

Thanks for bringing this up too. My main point was that casinos bring value to society, while an AP does not. A casino sells entertainment, while providing jobs and taxes to the local government. For the most part, casinos are thriving throughout the world because people like them. An AP is not going to the casino for the same reason as the general public so it's sometimes hard for an AP to understand the value of a casino.

What the ...?

For example I may have said "it" in the RoR thread with a somewhat vague pronoun reference. I would go back and replace "RoR" for "it" so that the somewhat vague pronoun reference would be eliminated making the meaning clear.
