For the rest of us, we're not there to be "loved" by everyone as we piss away money in sub-par play. I'd rather be other places than inside a casino. The profit is the secondary focus. Beating the game is the primary focus.
For me, it was never about the money. When I started thinking about retirement and what/how I was going to spend my time, this was what I chose to do. Just wanted to do it well enough to not cost me anything and if I could win a bit to help me trade cars...

Interesting... a new GM. That’s a very large position to be filled.

I've been meaning to reply to this post. It reflects my sentiments. I have a couple casinos I call my home store in different cities. Each one has a different clientele that I wouldn't be able to mingle with in my work or social life. Life is about more than money. I enjoy the interaction with different groups, old and young, wealthy and poor, and all races. I have one casino I go to where older "snow birds" go. I look forward to meeting the same ones during the winter months.

I also like interacting with casinos staff and I've always found them to be friendly and they do a goood job, as long as I stay in their tolerance level and don't get greedy. I usually have good political discussions with the pit critters. We like to make fun of the left coast, both east and west coast. Lol. It's a joke. I've lived on the east coast a good part of my life and liked it. I know there are good and bad people with all views in every part of the country.
