Do not side count for a six deck game, instead focus on finding a heads up game where you can play really fast.

Only exception would be the FBM ASC.
Seriously though, speed trumps side count. Unfortunately, the concept is compromised by dealer quality.

Especially when 90% of those posts are made by people on my ignore list.

I've already said my piece. 5 posts per day per person, max.

The reason there's so much noise here is the same reason BJ21 is pretty much dead. BJ is a mature "sport." Just about everything that is pertinent to the game has already been said. There's no need for count debates. Been there, done that. It's just a matter of finding what you're looking for. Someone asks a question, there's no need for 10 pages of responses. If Don is the first to respond, there's no need for anyone else to say anything.

However, we're in Norm's house, and he can do as he pleases. So this, too, is a pointless debate.

Plus I don't want to smell my own crap 5 years from now.

It's a helluva lot of fun and something beyond my wildest dreams that I can converse with other players who have "been there - done that." Plus I pick up something new along the way. IMHO, I think the humor gives my game a huge advantage throughout the day. When I played basketball, we were pretty much a bunch of joksters and screwoffs. Until we took the floor. Playing is the easy part. Figuring what to do when not playing has been more challenging that I expected.

Many bettors in the sportsbook sit a few seats apart for months and never even say hello to each other. Talk about short term memory. Same old stories day after day. My lady is in healthcare. FWIW, she says it's very important to keep ones mind active. I say it's good to laugh and learn. Easier said than done sometimes.
If some of you can learn from Don and move on to other threads when an OP is not of interest, a poster whom you have already dismissed as a troll or a repeat question and just not get into every thread, maybe threads will not be so long.

If someone should decide to get rid of the so called useless posts, what am I gong to do at work when I get bored. That's something people need to think about. For me, it's a real concern. The so called useless ones are some of my favorites. These provide life learnings, which can be more important than bj stuff, although that's important too.

Again, I reiterate. This site has it all! Blackjack and everything else important in life.

This posts brings up an important point - entertainment value, excellent advice, usually, with a generous sprinkling of recriminations and cross recriminations.

    "Off Topic" posts are a plague upon this house;
but I view it differently. The problem would be
solved if Norm would assign someone to monitor
incoming posts and delete those that are irrelevant.
Most threads are contaminated with posts that add
    nothing pertinent or meaningful.

A newbie posts a question, and immediately we are
off-topic with stories and reactions that are moot
and possibly confusing. I am guilty of being abrasive.
Others are guilty of repetitious posting, and several
posters speak in a fashion that suggests that they are
perhaps dreaming of being stand-up comics. One prolific
poster prefers language mired in mixed metaphorical
references to sports. Some like one word or one phrase
posts completely without any substance at all. Frustrating.
I for one would prefer a handful of posts with substance to
a word-salad of things that are of little or no value to most
    of us.

So maybe there should be an off-topic/entertainment forum, rather than polluting BJ threads.

Actually, not bad, but not quite. Maybe more like a General 1, and General 2 forum. Someone would arbritarily decide to move a threaD from General 1 to General 2. The thread should stay for awhile in the 1 forum, because mizpxed with the crapola, are some pretty good posts.

Someone neutral, such as myself, could moderate - or maybe not me.

Point taken. I'm a little bored at work right now so I'll spend some time going through them. I've read a couple of the Sharkys NFL posts but not all of them. Some were interesting but most I skipped over. I don't remember even seeing the ones on Glitzen the cockel.

in all seriousness, I scan the titles and read the ones I'm interested in and skip the ones I don't care about. The same with going through the different threads. I can scan a thread pretty quick and get what I need out of it. I actually like some of the oneliners. Some are good, some not so. A quick well timed oneliner is priceless, and should never be edited out. None take long to read so I hope people keep doing this.

One of the best posts I read this weekend was the one about driving around the block to make sure the driveway door was closed. It was good seeing I wasn't the only one that did this. I need to do this since I've forgot to close it a couple times. This always makes for an interesting evening when I return home since I have to search my house to make sure some derelict isn't hiding under one of my beds or in the closet. So far this hasn't happened.

As as far as Freightman's patented ASC method, at first I found it funny, then a little tired and lately funny again. It probably depends on the timing and my mood. I've always found locker room humor funny. And going to the well again and again can actually make a joke more funny. Kind of like fart jokes in movies. These always get a laugh - at least from me - no matter how many times they are done.

This is is the first time, I've tried to answer a post with quotes. Once I hit send, I'll see if I did it correctly.

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage.
