Majority of Time Play Rated Under Real Name
Majority of Time Play Rated Under False Name
Never Play Rated Under Any Name
Need Those Comps Always Play Rated Under Some Name
The reason you never seen anyone backed off is because they do it away from the tables. It goes down something like this. You get a tap on the shoulder and someone in a suit says "Mr Smith can I talk to you for a minute." You get up away from the table and he might introduce himself as the casino manager. He might even shake your hand and then say something like you are too good at blackjack and that you can't play there anymore. I had one casino manager flat bet me and then went on to explain what flat bet meant. I never had a nasty back off.

This should be an interesting series of responses.
I've never had a nasty backoff. I've had some stupid ones, and others that were very professional. One, right at the table with tablemates, others right at the table, without tablemates.
Where backoffs occurred away from the table, they were within earshot of the table. My comments at the table, gathering my stuff, always more polite than my typical 3 response. One backoff had me returning from a whiz, with the critter standing about 30-40 feet from the table, beckoning me over. His comments were far more polite and straight than a typical whiney 3 comment.
Haven't been backed off in a while, though I'm on pretty thin ground in a few spots. I've taken the position, since an MBay backoff, and have done since, not to step away when getting tapped and asked to step away. Most of the patron chairs are swivel type, and I simply turn around in the chair, not getting up.
If by yourself, no difference, if in the presence of ploppies, they don't want to look like assholes - and also sends the message to the ploppies that their play is welcomed as long as they are idiotic. The key, like posting, is to keep your response comments short and directly to the point. Effective response is lessened by long winded irrelavent commentary.

But I don't remember a tap saying "Mr Moses can I talk to you for a minute"? If I did, I'd say "no." Then make like a tree or run like a mother f'er. [/QUOTE]
Most if my backoffs were if the type described by MWP.
Forgot about one if my Fremont Street backoffs. I was playing a real shitty dd rules and pen - I upped my bet a few times scoring a snapper. I noted the 2 vultures coordinating their eyesite on me from opposite sides of the table. I figured it was time to go - count went down - I upped my bet (dual ramp) and critter one mounted the table spread eagled. His humping the chips signalled an end to play. It really was pretty funny.
I didn’t participate in this survey because I didn’t see anything that fit my case. I play unrated probably 95% of the time. When I do play rated, I either play in an alias, or a modified version of my name, knowing that I can manufacture more cards once that one is burnt out.
Only time I play rated in my real name now is when I’m doing AP machine play or I’m confident that a specific property is very tolerant for blackjack and I know there's a strong possibility that the casino won’t reference OSN or Bio to search my name. But that’s very rare these days. I can only think of a handful of properties I would do that at.
Bigplayer, over the years I have always read your posts, both here and at BJ21. If I recall correctly you have advocated against using false IDs, but it seems you yourself always uses them. So if you advocate against using a false ID why do you use them?
