Don't worry about 3. He likes to respond, especially on the trivial and non consequential. He likes verbosity, responding with length, incorporating little in the way of substance. He also gets a bit snitty sometimes, defending ridiculous positions, droning on and on, and on. He doesn't get it when a question posed is rhetorical, not requiring a treatise in response, but that's our 3.

Here is what driving is often like in the U.P. during winter.

Now that the big lake is mostly frozen snowfall won't be as bad. Snowfall can vary greatly depending on where you are in the U.P. The area around Escanaba is called the "Banana Belt". They don't get much snow. The snow thermometer in the picture shows most snow ever in U.P. assuming you measure it daily.

Most snow you will ever find on the ground is about 7 feet.

Unbelievable! MWP, thanks for the picture. A few days ago we had about 3 inches of sleet and finished off with about one- eighth of an inch of ice, which took me at least an hour just to get into my truck.

I lived in Buffalo area for a few years. About 100 inches or so a year was normal, depending upon where you were relative to Lake Erie. Once Lake Erie is frozen, the snow machine is ramped back considerably.

How are Buffalo games, generally speaking. I have a family event in Toronto later this year, and buffalo of course, is a hop and skip away.

Average is ~95 inches which is probably measured at the airport. What is known locally as the "southtowns" is probably higher.

Hands down the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is the snowiest place east of the Rockies with the exception of Mount Washington where nobody really lives.

Here is photo from blizzard of 1938. I wasn't around then, but I do remember telling my wife to instruct the kids to not touch the electric wires that you could reach if standing on top of the snowbank.

No other ideas, but to add on:

    1. This is the most important, IMO. Don't tell anyone and everyone of what you've found. Similarly, don't publicly post shit asking how someone else was doing something, IE: "I saw a guy who seemed like he was an AP, he was playing at <casino> with <some side bet> and was hammering the side bet, I've seen him playing hours a day!" because you're gonna burn him out.

    2. Extremely annoying and should never be done. I hate it when someone's like, "Oh yeah, that's James" or when I get an e-mail (on my personal email) or a PM where they know my name. No, please no. Also includes a person's phone number. Just because I wanna contact someone doesn't mean you should give me their personal e-mail and/or their phone number.

    3. I haven't played table games in forever and no one really ever contacted me at a table, so my only opinion is IF you're going to try to talk to the other AP, don't be stupid and do or say shit that can have a negative effect on either of you. But in general, if you see an AP in the casino, whether you suspect that person is an AP, or you know that person is an AP (either you personally know the person or you've observed the person to be an AP) do not approach him unprovoked. This is for your own good and for his. The casino might have an eye on that person, or on you....or both. You don't want undue heat put on you (yourself? don??? but I think "you" is proper) nor heat put on the other AP because you're talking to each other in the casino.

Sorta similarly, this happens more on machines and idk why people are so f***ing stupid and do this, but -- DO NOT TALK ABOUT AP OR "MATH" WHEN YOU'RE PLAYING. It seems like it's always the loudest dumbasses that do this, too. For instance, I was playing a promo and there was an idiot there who was saying shit like, "Oh this isn't as good as when they ran this promo back in '08 at <casino X>, back then it was worth $1500/hour, but here this play is only worth $800 and the EV and something variance blah blah blah Bob Dancer blah blah James Grosjean or Jean Scott oh and that casino was so dumb because blah blah blah and they got crushed by a bunch'a APs...." please, just stop talking (or better yet, drink a gallon of bleach).

    4. I don't really care if an AP wants to write up a trip report about himself, as long as it doesn't effect me or people I work with or the games I play (don't say you're off in location X because lots of HC opportunities or some other play). Of course, you always want to 'blur' the story report, by changing casino names, dates, and if for whatever reason you're posting amounts of win/loss, obscure that figure as well (don't say you won $11,535 at Bellagio, say you won $9,000 at Caesars).

    5. Don't really care either, again, unless that leads to people publicly posting about good games or plays. Please no -- just no.

    6. To add on to this -- don't just trust someone "vetting themselves". Contact the other person and make sure. If someone tells me he knows XYZ, I'm not just gonna take their word for it. I'm gonna talk to XYZ and make sure. I've had a situation come up where two APs are talking, say X (who knows me) and Y (who doesn't). Eventually Y says something to X, like, "Oh yeah, I was playing with RS a little while ago, you know about that play?" then X says "Oh I didn't know you knew RS, you were over at <casino Z> playing <some promo>?" And boom, X just told Y what I've been up to, which I certainly don't want.

Be careful. Don't be stupid. Do your own research and don't screw over other APs intentionally or unintentionally.
