    Red chipper with 18K

    Girls and boys!

    Advice required!

Would it be safe to begin playing Blackjack PART TIME with a bankroll of 18K with approximately between 0.2 and 2 percent (max) risk of ruin? (KELLY factor would fall between 0.333 and 0.5)
Shall i stick to 5 dollar or 5 euro games or should i move up a little bit higher? Let's say 25?!

Any advice would be highly appreciated!

    Thanks very much

    All the best

There are numerous issues to be addressed.

You are not really bankrolled for a $25 game,

but the greater heat is the issue. It really

hardly matters, BUT the low stakes games

(in the USA and Canada) have, for the most

part, bad table conditions, (8 decks, hit soft 17,

    crowded), etc.

Strictly speaking, $5 is a furlong from $25.

Which us not, for analytical purposes, 5-150 or 30 to one, rather, after taking card eating into effect, would average about 22-1. The pit though, would view it as 30-1.

This looks correct to me if he is spreading $5 to $80,
which is NOT a nice polite spread. $10 to $80 will not
be an invitation to a nattily attired pseudo-gentleman
in a cheap suit politely telling you that your game is
    "... too strong, etc."

    It is a certainty that $5 to 2 X $75 will be declared a
30-1 spread, and surely, in North America at least,
you'll generally last < 30 minutes in most casinos
    when you exceed 8-1, 10-1, 12-1 in a 6 deck game.

So gentlemen, May i assume that my spread would be too aggressive? (1-15)

We are assuring you that 15-1 is too
aggressive and you are ramping 30-1!

Your e.v. will be in the neighbourhood
of $12 to $16 per hour, depending on
    table conditions.

    Welcome to reality (mildly sarcastic)!
