    Yes. No other rule is going to impact on your decision to early surrender or play the hand out.

    Dealer upcard of 7 cannot become a soft 17 with dealer hold card, nor can an 8,9,10. He has stated the Queen's English. In other words, in his example, dealer upcard is NOT an ace.

    This confusion is absent in Ace reckoned counts.

    This is a thread about ES10. Even in a full ES game, which barely exist any more, the only difference between H17 and S17 is with hard four (22).

    In this game particularly you are not allowed to surrender versus Ace.
