    Still Hope?

Wanted to introduce myself to forum as I have just stumbled upon it.

Lots of great threads on here as I have found myself lost in posts all day! I have spent the last 2 months memorizing basic strategy and have just begun practicing counting. Naturally, I do not have a mind for numbers and have taken on this endeavor not for the hope of profit but more or less for the brain exercise.

From a lot of the content I have read on the forum, it seems gaining the edge in a US casino is almost non existent. is this accurate? Personally, I feel as though I would not be confident actually taking what I have been practicing into a casino for at least another year. Even then, actually playing the game live in a different environment from where I practice would be difficult to say the least.

Looking forward to reading more of these backdated threads!

If it took you 2 months to memorize basic strategy how are you able to operate a car to get to the casino?

Have fun reading all the threads and then telling your pit critter friends what youve learned

    Hi Ustonzen,

Nice to meet you as well. Fortunately, I have a great life out side of Blackjack. With a full time job and plenty of responsibility learning basic strategy wasn't top on the priority list. Luckily, I do not need to master this skill to obtain a new Mercedes....

If I had put the hammer down, I could definitely learned much quicker.

Then do sudoku - blackjack is about getting the money everyone will tell you how quickly it gets old and if you dont like bitching geriatrics and smoke blown in your face there are more comfortable situations to add and subtract one in your head

    Learn a language

Haha, I am all set with Sudoku and learning another language serves me no purpose at all. Good thinking though!

Thanks for all your encouragement, have a great day.

On this forum? I would think this forum exists because people believe they can get an edge over the casino (with card counting and ALL related stuff like optimal betting, money management and more).

Hahahaha why are you locked up?
Seriously bro, if youre learning only for the brain exercise - thats a more legit reason then any. Using hi opt 2 Ace side count will help you most in this endeavor in the same way that if you want to build muscle you lift weights that cause failure at around 4 to 8 reps and max muscle hypertrophy ( hiopt2) rather then endlessly lifting those little pink 20 lb weights and doing karate in the mirror ( hi lo)
Its easy to say you dont have a head for numbers but this isnt a numbers game - its a game of SKILL. It would be like saying youre not going to be any good at baseball because there are too many numbers of bases and outs and strikes etc..you just memorize some numbers the way you would memorize a phone number or address or rules of a game and then you use skill to obtain the right number for any given situation.
Thats where the uncomfortable part comes in and where most people quit - that pain in your head coupled with that gnawing frustration in your soul are the side effects of the physical process of becoming good at something when you used to be shitty at it - as you train, and skip over a card or accidentally count the 4 as 1 instead of 2 or an ace comes up and you add it to the main count like an idiot - its like a tangible feeling of unpleasentness, this is your friend, you must embrace your friend and allow him/her to pull your unwilling, inertia- bound ass out of the easy pit of stagnation up into the light. What is actually happening when you do this is that the inactive neural connections that werent doing anything besides binge watching madmen on netflix in their underwear until you kicked their ass into gear by repeatedly training a skill which engages them are being wrapped in progressively thicker layers of myelin. Which might not sound important until you realize that myelin is the insulation around the "wires" of neural connectivity in your brain and allow for the quicker transmission of the signal that eventually becomes your entire reality of thought, feeling and action - but the degeradation of the myolin sheathing in your neurons is what causes FUCKING ALZHEIMERS.
So yeah, if youre going to learn for brain health go with the crossfit of hiopt2 asc and skip the doing karate in the mirror of hi lo
    Much love,

(Oh and any unhelpfuls you see in this post were given by jealous twats who use hi lo because "lifting weights is hard waaaah!")

If your response is to post #7 by Ustonzen, you should know he has yet to bet one dollar with the hiopt2 asc in his entire lifetime.

Everyone knows its better the sims say its better Norm has a graph on THIS SITE that shows its better using sweet little lollipop graphs - what does me having used it before have to do with anything?
(Aside from the obvious fact associating anything with me automatically makes it better)

Uh moses posted AFTER you posted that..

And after i told your lunchbox self about myelin..this is how you do me?

The point is it doesnt matter which will make more money if what youre doing this for is a brain workout - hiopt 2 full indices with ace and seven side count will challenge your brain more than the mouth breather's hi lo period, full fucking stop - its not a debate, its not an opinion - if you want to challenge those three self aware pounds of fat that sit atop your turkey neck - its the way to go
