hehe, well as a professional who makes around 150k/year in engineering and picked up blackjack for the challenge and netted a measly 8k in my first year with no green action. I can say that I have got away with playing rated, dispite unfair critism by a couple local aps, rated play is required at indian casinos... outside of that no one has ever seen my id in other states. And... i sleep in the back of my "vehicle" when traveling.. not because i can't afford it,but because that is comfortable to me and offers more freedom. oh the blashphemy My kids come before my luxury.
Naturally, you are pointing out an exception to the rule; but if you
can afford to gamble you can afford to be comfortable; and if Z'
imagines that he is comfy cozy at a Motel 6 he is more delusional
than I had thought. An old (decrepit?) (self-destructive?) man with
thousands of dollars in his pockets, staying at the cheapest motel
that he can find is so so sad!
yes i know i said this, and yes i know its false. But it is required in Oklahoma, places that either are 100% no ante (buffalo run) or on some days no ante like osage casinos. If you want to pay .50 cents a hand on top to the casino go ahead and play unrated. Ill stick behind what i said regardless that it is not 100% true. Personally i refuse to ever pay an ante and believe all aps should avoid it which by and large makes indian casinos specifically in Oklahoma "effectively" players card required.
I am not surprised that so many are getting defensive. Most people do when they are wrong. They been telling everyone to never play rated and here I am playing rated, getting to stay ant the Mbay or MGM or RIO or Red Rock, getting comped meals and more. Hell, they said that I am toast now that I am in the OSN and then I get comped at a great M life property on the 18th floor, still play rated.
If I am playing rated and I go into HL rooms, play $50 and up minimum games, max betting $500+, I am sure I am toast. However, if I am playing red and small Green, no one seems to take my card, run and check and throw me out. At one, place, when I handed my card and expected trouble (thats what the pros here said!), one casino returned with a different colored card, told me he had upgraded me! Another casino said my card had expired and gave me a new card good till January 2019, lol.
Dude zee - people arent pissed that youre doing it ( though they might be bewildered) people are pissed that youre making it seem like a good idea for noobs - which it certainly isnt. Just keep doing what youre doing and let us know what happens - try the HL room, youll never know until you try (obviously) and it will be a fun experiment.
You are in a unique position to provide some very valuable intel and people should be curious and appreciative.
Zee, you are the most clueless player in all of blackjack. You suffer extreme confirmation bias and ignore all advice outside your own direct experience. It’s laughable. I look fwd to future posts where you are backed off time and time again due to playing rated. All they have to do is care to look you up. To be honest st your stakes I admit you may be able to play years rated even being in OSN.
Seriously, you’re unteachable so now you get to serve as the cautionary tale for others.
What is so wrong about testing a long held belief? Someone has to dare to test it and I am well equipped because I can live without BJ if its true. On the other hand, my experiences can help those part timers, newbie's to determine what to do given what happens to me. Is it that big a problem if you play rated while learning and while gaining experience? Does OSN mean you cannot play anywhere even at small stakes? What is the damage?
FOR ME, playing rated for 3+ years resulted in about 100 comped nights that I used (in Las Vegas, Biloxi, Tunica and MO), as many as 200 comped meals and more (table play of about $100 a month from 2-3 casinos, small gifts etc.). Despite claims that being explicit on these forums (like casinos will go to the trouble, read these forums, initiate an investigation into a part time recrreational card counter who earned about $20k playing in over 50 casinos and 300 hours, earning maybe $40 a session) will get me in trouble, that having played rated, and now in OSN, I can expect a series of back offs and counter measures and more. So far, nothing has happened to me. Moreover, the mail (both emails and regular mail) continues to come with offers. Weeks after I was put on OSN, I handed my players card in Las Vegas to see the reaction. I was placed on a higher tier at one casino, given a newer card so I can exit parking lots at another and a comped room/suite on the higher floors with a fantastic view.
lets hope you are open to reconsidering this issues as it relates to part-timers and recreational counters.
