Casinos that won't spread the deck

Has anyone ever had a casino refuse to spread the deck? How would you go about finding out if you are being cheated? One place that comes to mind that I have heard others are suspicious of stripping tens is Foxwoods.

Are you talking about when they change the cards? The eight deck shoes used on the main floor come pre shuffled from the manufacturer and that eliminates a few steps. I highly doubt that they would cheat.

I'm just saying what others have said. When I have played there I noticed the count seemed to sky rocket every shoe and ends in a great count. My partner has kept an ace side count and the amount of aces left was always above expectation (i.e. 6+ aces in the unplayed deck). I am not making any accusations but I just feel uneasy when they don't follow generally expected protocol and spread the deck for the camera.

Most states require cards to be spread. If this is an Indian casino, they can do what they want. Call Gaming or check the regs onine.

I don't know of ANY casino ANYWHERE that would spread the deck upon request from a regular patron. Maybe they would for an absolute whale who was getting killed but then for that type of player they would do all sorts of other things. I saw a player at a well known Las Vegas sweat joint who could request courtesy shuffles on double deck.

I sometimes get courtesy shuffles on DD, but I usually don't ask for them

I'm right with you on that one.

My favorite is when the deck is very neg and even the ploppies lose so much that everyone else at the table just refuses to place a bet (I've already wonged out.) Of course, I might "steer" the ploppies in the direction of demanding a shuffle... Hey, the faster we get through that deck the faster I can get back to making money. It usually works best with one or two others at the table, which is the most crowded condition I want to play, anyway.

Oh, THOSE types of courtesy shuffles... It's been a while since I've had that happen.

How about when the deck is very neg and all the ploppies are winning every hand, because a neg deck is only an estimate on average, whereas the cards in front of the cut card may actually be very beneficial to the players? Don't you hate it when you wong out using your advanced counting skills and the ploppies stay in and win all the money? Same goes for when you do all those things that ploppies think are dumb, like hitting 12 v dealer 3, or taking insurance in a high plus count, or hitting soft 18 v a dealer ten, and lose every time you do so. I hate it when ploppies wave their fingers in my face and tell me, "I told you so." It's like all those endless debates that end, "Let's see what the dealer would have gotten if you had hit the hand like you were supposed to!"

Okay, you win. The endless debate over what would have happened takes the prize, tied with my messing up the table by making the "wrong" play. Don't forget to ask the guy at first base to show his first card so everyone can see what would have happened.

Second place is having the dealer scold me for hitting and busting my A7 v 10 (or similar), especially when he ends up with 17. "You shouldn't hit that. You would have won!"

Third place? How about the times I flat bet playing alone through a negative deck and win almost every hand. The dealers suggest that I push my bets throughout and then scold me when it's over for not exploiting my lucky streak. Oh well..

My serious answer is that I personally wouldn't sit down at a table where the new cards weren't spread. But then, I don't play 8-deck shoes and am not familiar with the standard procedures where you're playing, so I defer to paymypush.
