The Key Intermed. is to not burn ANY shops. I would recommend finding an out of the way nook, with a decent game, low/non existent/incompetant PB's, or "heaters" and get your real world practice in that one spot. As long as you dont give them your I.D. or give them a reason to want to save your Picture, you can learn and get a sense of how to develop the "feel" moo mentioned.

Play of the hands is probably the least likely thing to bring down heat. I don't think my playing decisions have ever induced a backoff.

I figured some of the high count playing variations, when I had a big bet out there, like taking Insurance on a stiff, or standing on 15 vs. 10, and splitting (9,9) vs. 7, might have been confirmations, the nails in the coffin, on some of my BO's.

I see. Its more like if you feel the heat, then get out. After I get the heat, so I left the casino, when should I revisit the place?

when you are using cvbj, you can justify resetting your heat levels to zero (sort of), if you imagine you are only playing short sessions and returning after an absence for which the pit has long forgotten you.

as far as the software goes, when I was using it I would simply go to file/new session - when I would normally get up and find another table/room in real world practice.

Although I personally agree with moo that it is more about getting familiar with signs of heat in the real world, than it is a set of plays and bets that bring attention to your play.

In shoe games, heat mainly becomes a factor when you want to play another shoe after playing max bet during a plus count. If you get up and leave, and if you play unrated, your concerns will be how long you wait before returning, whether it is safe to play other shifts, how long it will take them to discover you, and where to play in the meantime.

Recreational players like myself use a lot of camouflage, but that's because we are not always trying to maximize our win rate, but sometimes see being able to play longer as a kind of non-monetary +EV in terms of enjoyment and monetary +EV in terms of comps. If you want to maximize profits, most players would probably advise you to play short, sweet, unrated sessions, and generally never stay for the next shoe after betting max bet at a plus count. It is primarily where it is not practicable to follow this style of play that you need to be concerned about heat and camouflage.

Aslan, if I suddenly bet max when count is positive will bring out so much attention, however, I am willing to not make any obvious spreads like that.
Instead, as few other AP told me, to play longer session, I have to increase the bet only when I am winning or seldom losing (not more than 2 times, though) and decrease my bet only when I am losing, and same bet for push.

What does it matter if you suddenly bet max bet, and keep it there until the plus count is over, which is usually the end of the shoe, then color up and leave?

so should I completely leave the casino after doing that for a short session and head to the other casinos?

That will give you the most longetivity but you need to have enough places to play nearby to make that an effective strategy.

MIM nailed it. If you don't have other places to make it worthwhile, then you are saddled with using camouflage and coping with heat, or just not playing often.
