Just had a question about my bankroll and betting spread. I'm just looking to do some weekend card counting with a bankroll of $5,000.

The rules in my area are: H17, DAS, Double any two cards, No Surrender, Split up to 4 times, Cannot resplit Aces.

I was planning on some back counting and utilizing the floating advantage for a 6 deck game with a $10 minimum. The penetration is at about 76%-80%.

    My spread would be:

    TC+1: $10
    TC+2: $20
    TC+3: $30
    TC+4: $40
    TC+5^: $50

I wouldn't play anything in the negatives or below TC+1.

Please let me know if you guys need anymore information. Thanks!
Haven't simmed, but it looks like a .63 or .67 edge, and you're not playing heads up. You're playing with. Small bankroll, but almost all of your betting will be advantageous.

I would normally say go be more aggressive with your bets, but given bankroll constraints, 1-5 soread, most in profitable city actions, looks okay. The question is - are there enough low limit tables available to give you the heads up you require, along with hands per hour.

Thanks for your quick response. I'm in the San Diego area so I'm surrounded by casinos. On the weekends there usually are a lot of low limit tables. They will often open another side of the casino for players and it's usually a $10 minimum.

That actually brings up another question. If they opened up a $15 minimum, same rules and number of decks and pen, I wouldn't be able to Wong in until a TC+2..so now my spread looks like this:

    TC+2: $20
    TC+3: $30
    TC+4: $40
    TC+5^:$50

I would jump out at anything below TC+2. Is that still even playable and I guess beatable?

It is, but reconsider wonging out below *2. It looks odd to keep wonging in and out, and there is usually lots if room for volatility, which means profitable situations. Further, your hands per hour number will go up n the toilet. You may be constrained by bankroll size, but your modus operandi allows you to leverage that bankroll. In other words, you're not funding a steady stream of negative counts with minimum bets.

While this may be desirable on paper, you should understand that only about ~15% of the rounds you see will be at TC+2 or higher. That means 85% of the time you are idle. Not good playing protocol.

Your ramp will make winning difficult, consider a ramp of 20, 40, 60, 100 to get more bang for your buck. Also play TC +1 at $20, you will have very small advantage but will make you play look more normal.

Uses CVCX to sim exact conditions for more granular decisions.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!
