Legend has it that he lost between $2 and $4 million to poker legend Johnny Moss in 1949.
Another legend has him winning $1 million in in one session. This was way back when a million was a gigantic sum.
I read his biography which is a great read.
One of his famous quotes was "never bet on anything that talks."
He was near broke when he died playing $5.00 limit draw poker in California.
What a character he was.
