I got paid on a BJ in a big count toward the to of my spread and upped my bet to max bet because it was obvious it would be well above the threshold for max bet. The guy next to me split to 4 hands and the dealer used my empty space from having the cards removed to have room for all the splits. The dealer busts and pays the table including my spot which now had my neighbor's cards occupying the space my hand would normally be and a max bet out.

I had another dealer that I figured out couldn't add 4 cards together to save her life. I started max betting every round and hitting more of my stiffs. About every 3 or 4 rounds I would get a mispay. I didn't even need to count to make more than counting usually made me. The funny thing was the relief dealer was just as bad at adding cards. After finding out that they were veteran dealers having worked there for several years each, I decided there was no EITS. They had a really shitty game but that didn't matter.

One of my favourite dealers sometimes has blonde moments and either accidently flips her hole card over or starts to take another card when she doesn't need it. I love the occasional hole card or next card knowledge. What's more is she deals fast as lighting too. Love her <3

Best dealer mistake by far for me was when I insured a max bet and dealer had the BJ. She paid the insurance and didn't sweep my original bet. Huge!

I would speculate that the combination of dealer errors in my favor and the free-hand plays that the pit will allow from time to time (due to dealer mistakes) more than offset the negative EV from my occasional betting and playing errors.

I had a nice error like that. I was playing double deck and took insurance. I then busted. This was an OBO game. The dealer went to swoop up my money and I told her 'you have to resolve the insurance bet' first. She then took a hole card; it wasn't a ten but she was kind enough not to take either my insurance wager or my bet on the hand itself. It took me half a second to realize what was going on but I scooped up my insurance bet seamlessly enough I guess.

15 minutes later, after I had wonged to a shoe game, surveillance called down. Apparently they noticed that the asian grandma playing beside me got paid on a $5 push. So they noticed that, but not my $225 dealer error a few tables over.

Another time playing in Colombia I split aces and the dealer was sitting there waiting for me point at an ace, so I tried to double for less. "doubley es trente" they informed me, because apparently doubling for less is not allowed over there. I'm pretty sure doubling split aces wasn't allowed either but I wasn't going to argue with them. For all I know it could have actually been allowed, of course, they have lots of fun rules in Colombia. I've had dealers let me hit split aces as well which is always nice.

One time I had 11 v T and went to double down. Before I could even put the money up, quick as a flash, the dealer gave me my hit card. It was 21. I was quite sure that they were going to give me the option of either accepting 21 as a hit, or getting rid of the card and doubling down for real. Obviously I would choose the certain 21. But no! They decided to let me double retroactively, knowing I would get 21, because they had seen that I was ready to double down. Casinos can be so accomodating when they think they are reeling in a high limit whale.

Best was, similar to this andin the OP's favourite haunt, I think, insured a max bet, split and resplit with doubles. She drew the snapper and paid everything 2-1. We were conversing at the time, and I didn't want to ruin the flow of the conversation, so I didn't say anything. Don't recall the exact amount, probably over 2k.

I tipped on my bet on both spots and insured the tips and the dealer had BJ and was so happy about getting all the toke money he swept the tables cards without removing anyone's bets.

This is the only way I have ever seen this common mistake resolved.

Wow! That's one of the best I've heard. I'd be afraid to walk away with that one. They could get nasty with you if they discovered the error.
