    Lurkers,,who?

I really have to wonder just what are the lurkers about, they are so many in relation to members. My concern is they are Surveillance checking in on a routine manner to get educated and see wassup//////////////makes me nervous when I see certain topics brought up, real nervous,,,what do you others think??????

We have 3 or 4 surveillance guys who are out and contributing. They are here, so just don't post anything you would not want a surveillance professional or pit boss to read.

Could be some, but my guess is that a lot of them are like I was. I just looked at posts to see if I could learn anything, then when I got backed off for the first time I had a question to ask, join and have enjoyed participating since. And for a while after I joined. I would check onto the site almost daily but wouldn't log in unless I was going to post, probably some of that too. A combination of the three, who knows what percentage though and it is something to be mindful of.

I'm another one who would never log in unless I was going to post. Norm is drawing us out of the woodwork, though, by making more and more things unviewable unless logged in.

Good grief, Charlie Brown, are you talking to yourself again? (answering your own quote)

I think the AP in us, forced to play this cat and mouse game, breeds paranoia. In this era of casino industry cuts and downsizing, in crucial areas like surveillance and table games manager, who now are responsible for more tables per man, I don't see them setting up rooms and paying employees to cruise the internet 24/7. Am I to believe these folks after completing their days work are running home, logging on, and doing the spy thing on their own time? Now that's not to say, that we don't have members that are from the other side, of course we do. Some are open about it and frankly they have been beneficial. Those that I have communicated with are here to learn, like many of the rest of us, because they play on our side of the table during their own time and want to do so as successfully as they can. Maybe they have dreams of making the complete switch, but probably not.

A bigger concern to me, is the members who are legit members of our community, sometimes long standing members, who later switch sides, taking a consulting type job. The Max Rubins, Elliots and even the Wizard (and I do participate on his site). Sometimes there seems to be a very fine line.

Now all that said, I do try to take precautions. I know I talk too much, one of my NY resolutions that I am failing at..., but I don't name specific casino's or if I do, it's long after the fact and although I like to relay and share stories, incidents, and experience, I usually employ some sort of 'delay'. If I state an incident that happened yesterday or last week, it most likely happened last summer of fall. I am not the smartest guy in the world, but I learned that lesson at our previous home. One of the few times, I intentionally broke that rule was last summer, when I mentioned by name both the casino and the pit guy that followed me all around the casino, even to coffee shop pretending to be a patron, engaging in conversation, as well as my Valley Forge incident. At the time, I was thinking maybe it was good to 'out' some of these pit guys, for the benefit of others, so we could start our own griffin/OSN type database, but in hindsight even that was a bad idea, at least the public way I was attempting.

Yes I think paranoia comes with the territory.

When I applied to join the Organization I started noticing dark vehicles parked in front of my house. After I was accepted, the day I went to headquarters to pick up my stuff I honestly felt like someone was photographing me from the third floor window. The guard confiscated my phone, the guest lot was empty, and the lobby was vacant. For such a "busy" place it sure felt quiet, like they were expecting me.

Needless to say, even though the guard gave me back my phone I got a new one after that.

I often am lost by your posts, Tom. But this one is worse than usual. Maybe it's my cold medicine, but can't help but wonder, what the you are talking about?
