CVCX Standard Deviation Calculation

bigplayer, thanks, I am going to play around with those ideas. I'd love to get a little insight on how to interpret the standard deviation numbers in a meaningful way. even if I have to convert them to variance values. can one look at a variance or SD value and say "wow, that betting schedule or game or playing strategy has way too much variance." ?

Looking at variance in a void has no significance at all. If you have a huge advantage and make huge bets, you will also have huge variance. It comes with the territory and cannot be avoided. What matters is the ratio of your expectation to your standard deviation, and that value squared produces SCORE. SCORE matters ... a lot! But, with variance in the denominator and e.v. squared in the numerator, citing just one half of the fraction without reference to the other half isn't meaningful.

Reminds of the joke I quoted in BJA3: "Here's a partial football score: "Notre Dame 14 ..." :-) Doesn't tell you the whole story, does it?

Ha, thanks, Don. I have BJ attack 2 but I've heard BJ attack 3 is really worth getting in addition to 2nd addition.

I'll spend some time looking at SCORE again tomorrow. I think it should make sense in the context of EV. Thanks for your help.
