I'm wanting to have friends over to play blackjack but I'm not sure how to handle the betting and payouts because I obviously don't have a casino's bankroll. Any ideas?
Are you looking to run a live game at your house with a vig and cash? I HIGHLY ill advise you to not do such a thing! If it is a friendly get together to show of your BJ skills with drinking and finger food, I see no problem.
The problem that will arise is when you have to explain to the judge HOW you were NOT profiting of an illegally operated game, with cash, gambling devices, and a structure to provide and commission a felony.
Check with your state gambling board/commission to make sure social gaming is allowed and if any gambling devices are illegal under private possession. (Also, review ALL gaming laws for your state so you are privy on what is okay and what is a no-no.)
Again, do not run a cash game. Fake cheques, if allowed by state law, are all you need. No money, no profit...got it!?
You need to learn the rules and procedures of "Caddy Blackjack"
Basically the deal rotates to whoever had the last BJ.
That player can refuse it OR auction off the right to be dealer.
The dealer announces how much he is willing to cover in bets
and places the sum before him.
I recommend that the game should be set up as DD with 65% pen
and liberal rules, including S17 and RSA and LS; thus giving almost
no advantage to the dealer IF the players use (correct) Basic Strategy
