A lot of what people are saying about poker is sounding really fishy. The numbers just are not computing. At least listen to the poker players on Bob Dancers "Gambling with an Edge" and other sites. There are plenty of good poker training sites to get this question answered. From reading/listening to those kind of sites I would say that if you put yourself through a really good training program, including a coach/mentor and going somewhere overseas where you can play online for a while (~3-6 months), that the general opinion would be that you would make $20-$30 an hour in $1-$2NL.
One other problem with this thread is that people are seeming to say that you have to be either a poker player or a blackjack player. WHY? Why not be diversified? The great thing about poker is that you can always find a game and you can't get barred. Also a $10,000 bankroll could be used for low stakes. Also being a poker player could be great cover as blackjack player. Lots of poker player are degen gamblers who blow there poker winnings in the pit. Playing blackjack at a casino during a poker tournament should be good too.
