Would more APs or surveillance operators pass the test?

Had my job not require so much travel i would be all over this opportunity. This is a great opportunity especially if you are fairly new to AP, there is no price to the education that you would be able to get from moo. Had the pleasure to meet, play, and receive help from moo at the bash and its just amazing as to his knowledge and play of the game.

    Moo,

This is the most concise, no BS, excellent "Help Wanted" notice, I have ever seen looking for team members.

Congrats on an excellent post and IMHO an excellent opportunity for the aspiring "Young Gun".

BTW, as I view it,, the game is still a wide open opportunity, on several fronts.

    My Best,

    Coyote,

Do not feel embarrassed, we all make mistakes and on any given session can be off our "A" game just as any Pro Athlete can, and indeed often are. I also know many AP's at the BASH were distracted by a young Brittney Spears look alike sitting at their very table!.

I remember at one BASH we had to deal with Sharon Stone sitting at the table and that led to many AP's messing up and hitting hard 17's, (!) so do not feel bad

Team play is a fascinating subject and I'm sure it's all about the right people in place. You're only as strong as your weakest link in the chain but leveling out the swings with team play makes it sound very worthwhile. I personally know one very successful (small) team and it's obvious that if you get the right group together, you can have favorable results. This would have been an attractive offer to me 25 years ago when I was on a low budget and playing a nickel game! Kick ass and best of luck to you, Moo!

    1. You need to be an established player. If you came to a Bash, that's good enough for me. Otherwise, I'll need recommendations. If you don't know anyone on the site, I may consider it, but be prepared for paranoia. If you're a casino spy, don't bother trying, and I will consider your attempt to contact me to be fraud. I will press criminal charges against you and initiate civil fraud proceedings against you and your employer. If you think I'm some internet hero, try to defraud your way onto my team and see what happens.

    2. I do not f%& around. If you can't count down 6 deck shoes consistently on your kitchen table, don't waste both of our time. You will embarrass yourself, and cost yourself travel expenses, and if anyone on the site asks if they should work with you, I will have to say no. If you're still training, that's fine, just say so. I MAY help train a player who is learning. But don't swear to me that you can count if you can't.

    3. You will not touch my money, probably for a long time. When you do, it will be small amounts at first, until you prove yourself at the red chip level. You'll be working exclusively as a spotter until I know I can trust your count, your work ethic, and your morality. If you are a liar or you plan to scam me, see item #1: I will have you prosecuted if you steal from me. I will also have your name, picture, and other info which I will post on every forum and report to every contact I have.

    4. You must pass a background check. Don't bother me if you won't pass.

    5. No drugs, no alcohol dependency.

    6. This is a business, not a pleasure cruise. That means, we won't be going to strip clubs, we won't waste ANY of our investors' money, and if you are not playing properly, I will not tolerate it. You will be counting down shoes waiting for good counts most of the time. It will be boring. You MAY get to stay in nice hotel rooms, and we MAY get a comp to the steakhouse, but these will be occasional. Our job is to get the money. If you like to "half-ass" with the count, don't bother contacting me. If you're serious about making money, however, you will learn everything you need to know and more.

    7. My "checkout" test before I will work with you is as follows:
    a. You count down multiple 6 and 8 deck shoes without errors. This will include distractions. You must use hi-lo. If you use another system, and you want to play with me, you'll need to learn hi-lo. Your lips had better not move, either.
    b. You know basic strategy cold. Don't bother me if you don't know how to play A4 vs 4.
    c. If you don't know index plays, I will teach you. That isn't as important to me initially.
    d. Deck estimation is also not as important initially. I will teach you this if you can't do it.

    8. You'll need to be in the midwest, or a major gambling destination, or be willing to travel. I'm fine working with college students on breaks. If you live somewhere else and want to travel to meet us, you'll still need to come to me for checkouts.

    9. If you're willing to invest, that helps me know that you are serious.

    10. If you want an hourly rate, it will be LOW to start off, until I know you're serious. If you want an equity position, it will be higher than an hourly rate. It will also increase with time, as you become more valuable to the team. Once I trust you as a big player, you'll be paid quite well.

    11. Established play with a player's card where you can get comps (particularly hotel rooms) will help. Burning out tons of casinos playing rated will not help. The El Cortez does not count

So, if you want to play on my team, send me a PM. You can ask questions on here as well, but don't reveal any personal information.

While this seems a well thought out and legitimate offer, I would like to add a thought or two about this help wanted add. First off, I would not think a stranger trying out for a spotting position more "serious" if at first they had no urge to invest in a team, or someone they barely know. If they did, I would consider them foolish and a risk taker more than being serious. Also, if I were a qualified applicant willing to travel, pass a test, and agree to a backround check, then I would expect my employer to do the same. Yes this is a business, but it is not like most that you could publicly check on, say, with the Better Business Bureau or somewhat similar means. Before I start traveling around and investing my time with someone I meet on the internet, they must be willing to meet my standards as well. As long as I could pass and meet all the criteria that was needed for me to get the job, I would find it reasonable for my employer to show me they know what they are doing as well. Passing a spotter checkout is fairly easy compared to passing a legitimate BP checkout. I would need to see that the personnel that I would be passing information knows what to do with it. Even though spotting is the low man on the totem pole, that does not mean they need to waste their time spotting if the total quality control of the team as a whole is not on par with what a good team should expect.

I of course do not mean to imply that Moo is not a squared away player that does not know his job. Nor do I think he has to prove anything to anyone or allow a check into his own backround if he does not want to. It sounds as if he does know what he's doing and is serious about it. Its just my opinion on something I know a little something about. I know on my team the spotters get to take part and observe in the checkouts of all the players, including the BP's. That way everyone knows and trusts each other's qualifications for their job. Regardless of how long I have been playing and how successful I have been, if I can't regularly install confidence in my team, then I can't expect it from them. This is especially true when dealing with new team members that have yet to form any type of trust other than what they're told.

Thanks Ouchez! Brittney had an awesome time and she was so happy for the chance to play a session with such talent.

Checkouts will soon be taking place. If you want to play, and you know how to count, PM me now to make arrangements. This will be getting off the ground soon.

I also recall playing blackjack with Brandie Moses at one bash. I didn't know until afterwards that she had appeared in Playboy, but it was clear that she was qualified. I'm sure I made some errors that day...some probably even involved blackjack!
